wierd one this - Very wierd

just this second popped out to grab the immobiliser certificate i left in the car and  door wont unlock - knowing they are crap/break with the best of em i thought ahh passenger door - pops round still the same then pop it unlocks - great - grabs stuff and check key in ignition all ok - now it wont lock - :wtf: am i tired ? yes but this aint right so i check boot lock - same thing - wont turn at all so i devise a plan thinking its cos they are dry it worn a bit so:

grabs a capful of cooking oil (no WD40 ANYwhere thanx to the kids :censored: )

and a lighter to light me ciggie on the way

still no joy with the oil - wiggling and swearing and deep breath grabs me lighter  run it along the key for a few seconds and VOILA it works

go round same in each door - warm up worx fine run some oil in/out then back to the drivers door UH? packed up again ? this is mad so i go round em ALL again all working ok.

pops in house to calm mrs down and convince her i aint off driving all nite ('onest) and grab a drink (feck it's cold) after 5 mins pop out to test my theory as the key now feels cold and had a niggle in my mind maybe it's the key worn and the heat was expanding it (ye ok i know) and VOILA all working fine as they should

so all i need tomorrow is some WD40 / more cooking oil / and a new lighter :hide:

see smoking is good for ya

moral to the story is - every time you jetwash ya car - grab a can of superlube/WD40 and go round lubing up all the locks/handles/hinges - ya never know where water will settle :hide:
