Its alive, its alive I tell ya !

Wahahahahahahahahagh !

The pickles extensive dose of winter surgery is nearing an end and today it moved under its own (not inconsiderable) power for the first time since Nov.

Rod-change 020 to cable change 02A conversion (special ratios and Quaife diff)
New race-spec flywheel and clutch
Motorsport shifter (and lower dashboard mods to accomodate)
Skipmonkeyracing adjustable clutch pedal stop (gearbox end)
Modified ratio shift lever on gearbox end of gearshift
New inner CV joint boots
Overhauled front brakes

Its a bit weird right now - very direct shift and clutch is a bit sharp but its ok and still modulatable - as its a multiplate clutch, it chatters like a ducati when disengaged - well cool

Battery is charging currently so will do a more extensive road test v.soon

Ave it

you must have your reasons for going to cable change mate (stronger than rod i assume), but watch out for the odd missed gear when pushing hard... :-o

i see jase but im thinking of the fact the cable change motion itself isnt bulletproof.

Shift will be tested and modified until is A1 - these are far from stock bits in the shifter but it is still H-pattern - staying with 020 was not an option, engine power and grip levels with slicks had gotton too much for 020

Cheers

Road test today - frig me its quick and very noisy (forgotton how much so, last drove in Nov), new gearbox ratios are ace, clutch is nice, shifter works just as good if not better than a rod box

Laid down some cracking darkies on the road testing the clutch take-up :D

Think speedo is well out however - need to check tomorrow vs. leon speedo

MOT next week, then get looking for a trackday to test me new Bridgestone tires

Ave it
