2.0 8v problems

can anyone help me with my annoying problems im having with my 1997 Ibiza 2.0 8v? Ok here goes. Bear in mind its recently had a service (5 weeks ago) with new plugs, and SEAT leads. 1st problem is when driveing and im coming to a stop the revs go down very low to the point where somtimes it wants to cut out, then after about 2 seconds of that it goes to normal idleing. It does that every time. Car ticks over perfectly though normally. A chap at work too a peep under the bonnet, we took the indution kit off to see if there was a build up of crap/carbon and it was fine, but we cleaned it all. This didnt resolve the problem. We have noticed a little strange tapping sound at low revs that comes from around the cam belt area of the engine bay. Im going to get a new cam belt as he reckons my current one should be a bit tighter. Any comments on the low revs/tapping noise?

2nd problem, when setting off in 1st gear i get shuddering as if the car cant grip for about a second then its fine. Its noting like a mis-fire or flat spot. What could this be?

This isn`t going to be much help to yourself Mike, but mine has developed the same problem with regards to the first gear juddering.

I`ve got a 95 2.0 8v with 60k on the clock. No idea what the problem is, but i`ll also be interested to hear from others.
