View Full Version : Meshing the grille
I'm about to mesh my grille so I had a bit of a shufty last night to see how to get it of the car. I removed the 3 screws on the top and then popped out the passengers side indicator and the grille just seems to be held in with a plastic bolt, is that all i have to undo ? Also, I couldn't release the drivers side indicator cos the airbox/headlight is in the way, and my hands aren't that big ! Any hints appreciated.
I think it varies slighlty from model to model, but basically - Yes!
easy peasy. I got round the indicator problem by flicking off the spring catch with a small screwdriver. The indicator is on a runner so it generally clips back in okay.
On my cordy the section with the badge comes off in two sections, one with screws for the black grill, one with pop rivets for the badge - so you can decide to mesh with badge, or debadge it completely.

Recently had to remove and re-fit mine. As well as the 3 screws on top and those under the indicators there were two retaining lugs along the bottom of the grill that were a bit of a bugger to release. If you pull the grill foward slightly and look down you should be able to see them.
They need lifting upwards to release them using a screwdriver. I couldn't actually manage to lift them, but was able to get a screwdriver between the two parts and twist, which did the job.
On the indicator problem I used a long thin screwdriver through a hole directly above it to release the catch.
