Mark: Do those VAG-COM thingies work on any laptop???
What are the benefits of them? Do they improve performance without declaring anything to the Insurance company? Is this part of the REVO-thing?

Can you program key fobs through this to turn lights on and fold electric mirrors out and in on pressing??

Apologies for the dumb questions.

Craig

Here you go http://www.ross-tech.com/index.html

Its not performance software, its for diagnostic purposes, basically allows you look at your car, see faults, check parameters and take readings.

As for folding stuf in and out and turning things on and off, no they are done with hardware modules, search under Autowindow.

VAG-Com does have functionality for turning things on and off, etc but not what your after.

Quick question, probably in the wrong section, has anyone else used Autowindow to do their fob and were they satisfied with the results?

I want mirrors to fold and unfold, windows up on lock, with a boot unlock and lights on when its dark.

Craig

======Found the answer, sorry=======

ZBOYD - I don't suppose you still have VAG-COM & are still in Cheshire?

I'm hoping to see if my Leon can be fitted with cruise & apparently a quick way is to plug in VAG-COM & try to enable it.

I can travel out to leafy Cheshire (maybe with some of your favourite tipple in the boot) if you've got a spare half hour some time?

Ta in advance

Just noticed your previous post about Autowindow. I just installed the basic one last weekend. It does exactly what is says on the tin - but it helps if you're patient & good at pulling things apart. The wiring instructions aren't the best - one wire was a different colour on my Leon - but a quick e-mail to Autowindow & a search on t'internet solved the problem.

Dunno about the boot unlock tho?
