View Full Version : Supercopa DV Location
I'm wondering why they took the feed for the DV from near the first intercooler?
In fact, why did they bother with a recirc - they run without a MAF don't they?

I assume its like a cold side DV relocation kit??
Yeah, just wondering why they ran it right across the engine bay from the driver's side front of the engine bay to the TIP.
They could've taken it from near the throttle body
I've just realised that it's an oil return pipe feeding into the washer bottle (as a catch tank I assume).
So where's the DV then? The OE take off is blocked off, and there's no return line into the TIP that I can see

surprised they still kept the silencer in top charge pipe

They may no have, they may have feel'd it and cut it out!
there's not reason to take it out is there?
they don't take the pee with the boost, and only produce 250bhp
Also worth noting that the more OE parts you have the cheaper, easier & faster it is to maintain your car.

its more than just peak power, it spools quicker and holds boost higher up rpm
1.8-litre 20-valve turbocharged
320Nm torque / 250PS @ 6400 rpm
Doesn't really matter though - as if all cars are the same they could have a tiny pipe

They're spec'd to be the same.
OE parts not chasing ultimate power, and has to be race reliable.
Given these cars run without MAF etc, & reputedly antilag, they're probably not a good reference point to road Leon Cupra-R's. Other SEAT Sport mods in there.
Talking with Swindon Race Engines earlier this year, who maintained the motors last year, they said none of them had suffered engine failures at all, beyond overheating damaged engines which was caused by body damage and radiators being stuffed in etc... Testiment to the strength of the motor I think.

Hear where you're coming from, but they're that far from standard...
Besides - they've already modded the pipe - If you look the OE take off from the DV has been welded up/blanked off and the pipe resprayed.
TBH I was wondering if they'd taken the silencer out, but who knows  (My bet is they have). And to answer Mike's point - if they had taken it out you would still see the "canister". Then again, why not just replace the whole thing - they gone to the trouble of replacing the other charge pipe...
So where is the DV? Or do they not run one 'cos of the anti-lag?
Also - is that an extra MAP sensor on the inle manifold? And what's those other extra things on the front of the manifold - two L shaped doofers with brass connector and a wire sticking out?
It looks like they've finally sorted the notorious pipe by making it longer and sticking two clamps on it.
I'd love to have a good look round and ask some questions...
I wonder if they've done anything else to the inlet manifold other than stick the SEAT Sport logo on
And finally - I wonder if they've disconnected the beep that you get when the washer bottle's empty, 'cos that'd send the driver's freaking nuts. Hmm. Maybe that's why there were so many crashes last year - they were all looking at the dash screaming "I f00king KNOW, already" just like the rest of us...
