Hi Guys,

I need your help, as my old man works for SEAT in Milton Keynes, he brings home some wonderful things for my car, rubbing strips, roof racks, and bike racks to name but a few. But today he brought me home a Sony XS-AW3 Active Sub.

Not the best sub in the world, but it’s better than a kick in the teeth, it came all boxed up and all the correct wiring, and it even has instructions on how to fit it specially to my Ibiza Cupra. I can do all that; the thing I can’t do is remove the radio, to tell you the truth I haven’t even tried. Should I take it to my local SEAT dealership and pay for them to do it, or are the instructions on this site about radio removal good enough for me to attempt on my own?

I could do with a little help please…..

Thanks

John: confused:

my advice is to take your car to your local independant car stereo
shop they should be able to pull the radio out straight away for you or if you can get hold of the proper tools have a go yourself its not difficult .

Hmmm.would ave though if yer old man can bring ll that other stuff home, a photcopy from the Official SEAT maintainance manual should not be a problem!

Plus it's only 6 screws anyway.

As you are reading this I am probably in my garage trying to fit my sub!!!

What I would like to know to anyone out there who has removed their radio is that, is it like your normal conventional car radio, in that once you remove all the connectors on the back, you need to re-enter the PIN number in order for your stereo to work again?

Also if this is the case where can I find my PIN number, only I have looked through all the manuals that came with the car and not only can I not find it, but if I did find it, there are no instructions on how to go about entering it, the combination of buttons etc.

This is the only set back I have come across at the moment; everything else is going to plan (so far).

I need a little light on the subject

Cheers

John
