Hi, I had a little 5 inch widescreen monitor in my old cupra mounted just under the ashtray, it looked ok just blended into the dash. Got a Kenwood all in one screen and DVD system in the my new cupra.

For the specs you have described the Pioneer X1 fits the bill perfectly. It replaces the standard HU and does DVD and navigation.

The system ive got now is a Kenwood KTV-725DVD B. It has a 7inch wide/touch screen and comes with a hideaway box which I have fitted in the boot for easy connection to the amps. Yes I fitted it myself, it took about 1.5 hours. Looks and sound great.

Stevecupra:
How do you find that Kenwood unit you've got?
Just had a look at it now. Looks nice, and the features look quite good also.
Any comments on it mate?

I think the Kenwood system is brilliant, its got all the features you could ever want. The picture quality of the internal DVD player is crystal clear. Ive got it running with 2 Pioneer 12 inch subs running at 350watts each and an Alpine amp running the door speakers. And the sound quality is amazing, its got all the features such as crossovers and equalisers to set up the sound. The only thing I would say about it is a bit of a pain to fit, but I suppose that is because the actual headunit and hide away box are at opposite ends of the car.

Thanks Steve.
I'm assuming you had to buy longer cables/leads if you put the hideaway box in the boot?
I've never tried fitting something like this before; was it an easy install or a bit tricky?

Gav,
No the cables that come with the unit are plenty long enough to got from front to back. On fitting the only difficult thing is getting the cables behind the glovebox and down the side of the car. I had to take the glovebox out and take the door ledge trims off to get the cables under them. It was well worth the effort though.

Steve

Good man.
Thanks Steve.
I've the unit on a number of sites for just under 900 notes so I think it could be a good buy.
Thanks for your help mate.
