My motor is a 96' 8v Cordoba GLX

All lights where ok...till the weekend hits.
A driver behind me lets me know that my lights wernt working (both stop lights didnt work....but the rear window one does).

So I stop the car and fiddle abit with the globes and prestow they worked....following day both didnt work again...so I replaced both the globes....and they worked......checked them later on in the day and they werent workin......I doubt anything would be wrong with the wiring (theres no reason to be)...anyone else had this problem??.......could this be a fuse?...(would think if a fuse is blown they would cease altogether).

I am still running the original battery which is over 5.5years old.(no signs of failing tho)

.....I feel a bit nervous takin her out at the moment....since the last thing I want is someone crashin into me

Any help is much appreciated

Had the same kind of problem on my Beeza. It only effects one rear brake light.

Someone informed that one wasn't working so whilst I had the brakes on my mate got out and gave the casing a thump and it worked again. It's happened a couple of times so like you investigated into the connections/fuses etc but everything seems ok. A gentle thump seems to do the trick.

One for the X files me thinks !!!!

This may be the wiring problem or the the globe problem. Even this never happen on my Cordoba (same as yours but it's 95 - I'm in Perth). But The wiring problem was seen in my brother's Camry and the globe problem was seen in my girlfriend's Pulsar.
I'm quite interesting in your car mod (esp the induction kit and the exhaust). If you have time please tell me where you get them from and the price. (ansenchoy@hotmail.com)

Cheers mate.

Thanks for the input

I eventually found the problem...

After checking all wires again ....I noticed on both the plastic bulb brackets the plastc welds holding the the power connection to the stop light globes had given away....This caused it spring away from the glob contacts.

I've fixed this problem with a screw to hold it down.

Just an unusual case where both stop lights ceased at the same time.
