you should check oil levels water levels and just check the engine bay when you fill the tank.could spot prob's before they become serious.helps keep the bonnet catch free too

I always check oil etc when I wash my car so the bonnet comes up once every 1-2 weeks. Never had any problems :bleh:

SPOOKY. Same problem. However mine is full of dirt and gravel (assume "car park" at work). Mine is going to need some work on it. Took it to IMG Warrington. They sprayed with WD40, but it's still not releasing properly - £60 to get a new one fited... thats a last resort me thinks!!!
Goot :)

Mine was pretty much the same as yours at one point.. seeing as I do so little miles in the car (only just over 8k) the bonnet has only been opened to add water to the washer bottle and check the oil a few times in almost 2 years of ownership.
Anyway I cut my finger really badly on the plastic catch on mine (edge has razor sharp bit of placcy which seems unique to my car) when it jammed and wouldn't open. Luckily I was at Alex**'s at the time and he sorted it for me while my finger bled badly
