View Full Version : Brand Spanking NEW Ibiza Light Clusters
SEAT have launched the NEW Ibiza - front looks a bit ropey but I'm a big fan of the rear light clusters.
I have a 2001 Ibiza 20VT and just wondered if anyone knows of anyone/company making this style of light cluster for the 2001 Cupra - or if they have heard if SEAT are going to make available retro-fit ones?
Cheers
been at this for nearly 2 yrs m8,the only place i found was bright white lights , in belgium and i think they were hand made by two guys and were over 200 quid, though i do have a cunning plan;)
Is that a 'baldric' cunning plan or a 'blackadder' cunning plan?!
Don't tell me, you have a garage full of old Cortina rear lights, you're going to melt down and provide the nation of Beetha Cupra drivers with afterburner clusters...
...just a thought !!
not quite, but if ya have any old clusterss lying around i'll have em:cheers:

Me to:
Way to go in verrrrrryyyyy brief (I know that guy from Belgium, I'm from Belgium to and B. is a verrrryy small contry)
Take your original rear clusters.
Take some tools (cutting pliers?) and cut af the colored bits. (the red plastic)
Now go to your local DIY store and buy some of those white shower plates. (yes like the one in your bathroom, no curtains though :p )
Now take a heat gun (paintstripper) and heat the plastic so you can 'mold' it around your lighthousing.
With superglue, glue the whole deal together and make whater proof with silocon.
tadaaaa
Not completely sure how that is gonna work, sticking a shower head to your rear light clusters!
Have you got any better photo's of that car? Ones so that you can see the rear lights, maybe with lights on and off? Is it your car? Looks like a pre '99 Ibiza - mines a 2001 Ibiza 20VT...
...nice paint job tho...
:D

Euhh no I don't mean a show head.
The plastic 'plates/panels' where the shower cabin is made of. You know, that 'frost like' glass but is actually plastic. Thats the material I meant.
Thats how it is done. Its not to easy te make them. But it is done like my description above. (the are BTW not street legal)
I don't have better pictures from the car on the picture :( and no it is not mine :( It is a beeza from the Belgian tuning scene.
Mine is a silver beeza 2000 Tdi110
Hey people...
Just got my car back from Richardsons - the gearbox bearings were knackered. All sorted now. Was getting a bit fed up of driving a red Arosa covered with stickers advertising them!
Anyway, I'm currently talking to a few component manufacturers and as far as i can tell, they may well be able to help.
I'll let you all know when, but i should soon be able to offer clear and lexus-style clusters for the ibiza through my website UltraModz (http://www.ultramodz.co.uk/) .
Not much on there at the mo, but keep an eye on it coz we've got big plans!
Matt.

Are you for real?
Cuz that would make me a verrrrry happy man.
When (if ever) do you predict they would be available? (raceland's informal rumors tell within 3 months, but i don't belive that)
Be sweet if you can get the light clusters as close to possible as the NEW Ibiza ones - they rock!
Keep us all updated!
Is that for the pre 99 model or the newer one?? If its for the newer one, I will be verryyyyy happy aswel!!:D
I started this thread stating I have a 2001 model so I hope the clusters will be available for this model...
...don't fancy the B&Q versions using a glue gun and shower heads!!

Don't fancy that eather but there just are no custom 'plug and play' afte market lights for the beezer
Ibiza TDI110,
Only havin a laugh about the shower heads!
Custom lights would be great - I'm surprised no one has made them earlier for like the 96 on beeza's let alone the 2001 on beeza's.
Strange one - you only see stuff for VW's, Vauxhalls and Honda's...

Thats not strange!
Want some inside information?
?
?
?
like i said i've been after some for 2 yrs for me 95 ibiza but all the companies i have asked about them have said that because there aren't so many seats in the world it isn't gonna make a profit to produce them.

Nope
For example: the demand for lexus (and all collored type lights is larger than the demand for VW after market lights)
Its Seat thats in the way. I know this from a good source.
For instance, Hella makes the original light clusters for all seats and VW's. For them it is a small cost (they have al the source materials) to make colored lights (and lexus type)
Hella has made a request in 2001 to make some light kits to see how they would sell.
Answer from Seat: I fyou do that we will prosecute you four lotsa cash cuz the disgn is ours, so back off!
All other companies got the message and backed off. Thats why I am so sceptic about peolple telling that within 3 months the lexus type lights will be available for Seat.
Seeing is believing but I dont see anything...
The lights i'm on about should look sweet but the problems will arise when it comes to legality. Not all aftermarket lights are legal. They do their job, but are not E-approved, etc.
I'm going to do my best, but you may have to switch back to the originals come MOT time...!
Oh well. The reason i'm trying to get them made is mainly to cruise round & be the only local fapper with trick rear lights on an ibiza!
I'll try to get a firm to make up some other bits & pieces, but at the mo, i'm trying to get the lights sorted.
