the speedometer on my lcr has stopped working 3 times within the last week and then just starts working again. Scanned with vag-com today and it showed :
16885 - Vehicle Speed Sensor - Implausible signal
P0501-35-10- Intermittent.
Anyone any ideas? :confused:
Car is going into the dealers on friday.
... Mine has this, think I just replied to your other post! It is in the garage now will let you no when it is fixed. When you accelerate hard does the fuel gauge drop 1/4 tank and then come back up again? :confused:

yeah my fuel gauge does the same thing. Going into the garage on friday.

sounds very similar, not sure what fuse it would be though.
Out of interest do you have Cruise Control?
Just been informed that it is the Speed Sensor on the gearbox, I'm not convinced but we will see. (don't understand how it would effect the fuel gauge)
In the meantime I have a lovely (sarcasm) Kia Sportage courtesy bus ... i mean car.

no i dont have cruise control, will let you know on friday what they diagnose for mine. Will see if it is the same outcome!
New speed sensor fitted to gearbox and looking good so far.

got the car back this afternoon, same problem. Be next week before they get the new sensor :( Had an altea courtsey car for the morning and was suprised how nice it was to drive, was only a 1.6 though so was awful performance.
Going to Suffolk tomorrow 200+ miles should be a good test to see if it has resolved the problem. At least you had a SEAT as a courtesy car, I had a KIA Sportage, it was truely awful
