View Full Version : Cupra bumbers on Toledo?
Hi guys!
First of all, congratulations to a great internet site! This is probably the best Seat Cupra page on the internet...
Secondly, I think I have to apologize for my English. I am from Germany and my English is not the best. But I am trying not to make stupid mistakes. So sorry for every mistake that might occur... Especially some car specific words might sound a bit stupid. That will be the case when I mix up something or so or when words are missing...
So, here's my problem:
I want to buy a Seat Toledo TDI (110hp). My plan is then to equip it with the front bumber of the Seat Leon Cupra.
Does that fit without any problems? Ore might there be problems because the fronts of the cars aren't exactly the same?
I have already seen pictures of a Toledo with Cupra bumbers, but I wasn't able to establish contact with the owners. So I wasn't able to get indepth information.
Has anyone in this forum tried anything like that?
Thanks for your time and help...

anything will fit my friend, its just getting it to fit that is where al the hard work is.
your english is better than mine btw :D
HI Matthias
Glad you like the site, we have big update coming soon, new website design, etc , so stay tuned, and dont worry about your English its fine, and we dont hold it against you, i cant speaka word of German, so your one up on me with the extra language. :)
As for fitting the Leon Cupra bumpers i see no difficulty in this at all, the front parts should fit the Toledo TDi with ease.
My own Leon Cupra has recently been fitted with the bumper from a Leon Cupra 4V6 (i guess this is what your after) in the UK the Leon Cupra, is more plain looking like the Sport in Europe.
I managed to get a Cupra 4 front bumper and grilles and had them fitted late last year, it transformed the cars looks, it really looks aggressive and suits its power. :)
It was a relitavely simple job as it bolted on in the same way and position as the one we removed.
Heres a pic of the result.

Thank you guys for your replys!
I actually didn't know that the British Cupra does not look like ours. I always thought that it also had the bumbers and wheels and stuff from "our European" Cupra. What I knew was that the V6 engine isn't for sale in England. Your Cupra "only" has the 20VT engine.
I want to do the same thing with my Toledo than what you did with your car. Looks great...
So if the front of the Toledo and the Leon are exactly the same there shouldn't come up any difficulties when changing the bumbers.
@ZBOYD
Did you perform more changes on you car than just the front bumpers?
As you see the front is done, it also has a Carcept spoiler on tailgate/boot.
Id like to finish it off at some point with the Cupra 4 rear and side skirts, when finances allow anyway :)
Other modifications are my ECU remap by APR, its now got over 200bhp and 230lbft of torque on tap, goes well. :)
Plus some mods to the Turbo intake and Air Filter
Plus 17 inch wheels, and some In Car Entertainment.Still very much in progress.
I have plans for the suspension to be done and maybe a 4 pot brake upgrade.
What about the side skirts?
That would be something I would like to do on my Toledo as well. That should be no problem on a Toledo as well or are there any differences between Leon and Toledo?
The rear bumper/skirt does definetely not fit on the Toledo, that's for sure. But I only plan to "paint" (don't know the right word) the black plastic parts on the rear skirt. That should do it for the first part...
have you seen this, sadly only a concept

Yeah, I know that one...
Here's another link: Danish Toledo Cupra (http://www.vagcars.dk/galleri/toledo/toljesperkl.htm)
When I am done with mine it might look similar to this one on these pictures...
Okay, maybe not with 19 inch wheels, 17 or 18 inch should be enough, but the exteriour of the car hits exacty my taste....
Andy you top man ~ just spent 20mins looking for that picture and finally gave up.
Always thought that was a superb looking Toledo......why oh why oh why haven't they?
Have you got the shot from the rear too?
You silly, silly imitators!
No just kidding guys! ZBOYD, nice colour! Imperial blue? Any plans to install an Haldex yet?
Success with your bumper transplantation Cypher! BTW the C4 rear bumper is a lot fatter as well, as you may know...
And please, install some super chip (SKN does a great job I heard, 150HP if you ask for it!) because if you make it look fast, it at least must be fast as well. I know this guy with a Toledo 110HP and he outruns a stock Golf 1.8T easily!
You can be quite sure that the car will have more power than just the regular 110hp when I am done.
But as far as I know SKN "only" offers ~140hp... but there are also companies who offer more than that. WKR offers 150hp officially...
Yeah, but the thing is, tuners usually never advertise on maximum power. 140 HP is well known to be fail-safe, so they just state 140 HP. However if you ask for more, you can get it.
Companies advertising high HP values, usually do this to attract more customers. I'm not saying that WKR does a bad job, but I know SKN does a great.
Anyway, a chip is recommended.
I myself went for Wetterauer on my C4 TDI, and it has lots of power now! Probably about 185 HP/400Nm.
This evening I met a C4 V6 driver. Very nice mods! However, I could keep up with him very easily! We tested till about 180 kmh and he couldn't shake me off. BTW he had 240HP, but 19"-ers (which make acceleration a lot less).
I actually don't understand why there are still guys out there who do modifications on a C4. This is probably the best looking car on the whole market out there and then some guys still begin to change their car. And what can they possibly improve?!? Nothing if you ask me...
@Danny
I would like to invite you to a huge meeting in Germany. It is supposed to be in Bürstadt, that's near Frankfurt. We are expecting about 6-800 Seat's there. It is scheduled for the first week in August...
Interested? If so, you could get more information. Just ask...
All you other guys can come as well! ;)
We would be glad if some of you could join us. I have never seen a Seat Leon / Toledo with the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car ;) :D
I sure would like that! I'll post it at cupra.nl too, because we got a lot of crazy Seat drivers as well! However, my German is very bad. I try when I'm in Essen though...
BTW: Still a few improvements:
* Double Exhaust (left and right, custom made at EPS (www.uitlaten.com))
* Darkened windows
* 18 or 19"-ers (trust me, those C4 wheels look small). I'll probably go for the 18" because I don't want to get slower acceleration.
* Stiffer suspension in rear (to get some more oversteer).
* Other Haldex software to get 50:50 torque distribution (i.e. Audi's software) and again more oversteer.
But for looks you're right. I know there is some cool DTM body kit that widens up the body and stuff, which may be fun, but not for me... It's a lease car and I dislike putting expensive things on that can't be taken off again for reselling.
