My car's away in for it's mot soon. I know that if the tyres fowl on the arches then that a fail, my car being pretty low scuffs the front wheel arches when turning. My plan is to remove the arch liners so that there is no contact what so ever, i presume this would be ok but i just want to make sure! Second option is just to raise the coilerovers a tad but the arches willl be easier.

Any thoughts?

Bribe the tester with a drink.

Id take it as it is, most garages wont charge you a second time within 7 days or under 100 miles for a retest if it does fail on that

Sounds like a master plan

£42 sounds about right, tho many places still knock them out at £30

Anything between £30-45 is normal.
Mine cost £38 last time round got nice pass certificate even tho it failed on something trivial :).
