Hi, anybody know if Seat run an additional lead from the battery for their amp/sub combo or if there's already a connection in the loom waiting to be used at the rear end??
Also, is there a mounting point for a cd changer in the boot, like in most VW's
Just asking as I'm away to install my amp/sub...
Cheers
Steve
Their sub/amp combo is a "splice your wires" job. I looked at it, got frightened, and sold it.

Ahhh, I knew it was a high level input job, didn't realise they spliced into a live wire as well, that ain't too clever for an amp :scary:
I'll be ripping out my interior tomorrow then :D
Anything I should look out for - awkward plastic connectors etc, I've done two MR2's (AW11 & ZZW30) and my Pulsar before, but Jap cars tend to come apart pretty easily :) not so sure about VAG group.
Cheers

You have a SEAT, so it'll probably come apart just as easily!
I didn't even try to do mine, I sold it and bought a proper sub and amp, with a proper wiring kit :)

Just so you know, I never bought a Seat amp/sub kit (it's Sony Xplod :thumbd: ), it's an Alpine amp & boxed 10" Alpine sub that I had in my Pulsar - wanted to make it lighter for trackdays so it's getting transferred, oh & I also have proper good quality wiring kit :D
That's what's going in the Seat ;)

Grommet behind glovebox. Pull lots of trim off, slap power to rear. Nothing too difficult, although still haven't looked properly to see how to remove rear trim.
I've just been given one of these optional amp / sub things...
Has anyone got a connection diagram they can email / fax me? How much did you get for yours when you sold it then toXXin?
The Seat amp and sub thing you said you sold in post 2 above?

I'd do the same as toxxin & sell it, then buy a proper sub/amp & hook it up, sounds LOADS better ;)

Thats the plan... Just need a copy of the install instructions to aid the selling of it! Mind you it cant be that hard. It only needs power and speaker connections.

Correction, it'll need a power cable (fused), earth cable, speaker cables & a remote cable....
Have a look HERE (http://www.icecavern.com/howtos/ampinstall/main.php) for a guide.
Have fun ;)
