Car's going in for some warranty work tomorrow and i'm just wondering whether the DV and strut brace will have to come off. Can't afford for it to be rejected as it's the last day of the cars 3 yr warranty !

Going in as the ECP light is on.

and why is the ECP light on.......

strut brace is fine, and I'm sure the DV is too, but that's 2 mins to change, so if you have a crappy bosch - stick it on

Not sure about the ECP reason - think it's something to do with the brakes as there was a code that vag com kicked up about the brake sensor (in the engine codes ?!!)

Cruise control isn't working either. Apparently also my brake lights were flickering yesterday as i drove down the road.

Going to Marshalls in Cambridge.

I was a little disturbed to learn that if the actual warranty work isn't carried out before the warranty expires then i have to pay for it ! Lets hope they've got all the necessary bits tomorrow :-o

Put the crappy Bosch DV back in to rule them pointing at that as a possible reason!

I know - that bit about not fixing the prob before the warranty expiry is a con! I had a problem diagnosed before the warranty expired but was told that! I mean, it ain't my fault the dealer can't get the part in on time - the fault occured under warranty! Luckily, I got it sorted on the day the warranty was set to expire.

Good luck.

if it helps :

listed code in engine due to consistent registered braking as the ecu cuts boost if you try left foot braking (ask bil  ) via the pedal switch

cruise is turned off if you activate the clutch or brakes via the pedal switch

brake lights flickering may be due to a broken/misaligned brake pedal switch

basically all of the above point to a brake pedal switch
