I have an issue with the Bluetooth function on my new Altea and wondered if anyone else out there has experienced a similar issue.

Most of the time it works a treat but the first time the car/phone "connect" after I received an incoming call the computer insists that that call is still incoming and then locks the computer (no amount of button pressing will stop it asking if you wish to Accept or Reject the call) until either the ignition or the Phone is turned off. Its then fine again until you receive your next call.

I've got it booked in next wek to be checked but I'm not holding out much hope. For info my phone is a Sony T630.

does this happen with other phones Richard?

Don't know as I don't have access to another Bluetooth enabled phone? The T630 is listed however as compatable on SEAT's website so I await with interest the dealers suggestions as to a fix!

Unless the firmware on your T630 is dodgy (unlikely as it's unusual for BT to play up on an SE), I would say it's deffo a 'car fault'.

SE Bluetooth handsets fully comply with the statndard, unlike Samsungs and Nokias for instance.

No resolution on the Sony T630 vs SEAT Altea with bluetooth issue. I've also noticed that the phone's contacts list are not being downloaded to the car when the devices connect - the list that comes up is the one that was in the phone at the time I first got the car.

Does anyone out there know of a phone that works with no problems with the SEAT bluetooth system?

SE's should...

If the system in your car checks out ok, and works with other phones, I'd see if your phone needs a firmware upgrade (I really doubt this is the issue tho).

My boss has the A4 with the BT option and found he has to set the system to delete the phone book and reload on every connect to make it work properly

Just tried a T610 in my car and it has the same issue (ruling out a specific issue with my phone I think). I've also checked with SE and I have the latest firmware. They also said the BT implementation on the K700i (which seems to work) was the same as the 630 (i.e. 1.1).

I don't recall a settting to delete/reload the phonebook on connect but I will have a look.

At least you've now narrowed it down - it's deffo the car kit
