View Full Version : Piper Air filters??

I got a Piper external air filter (not direct replacement) and I have had it sitting in my garage for ages, the reason being I heard a rumour that the are not any good and you will lose power and also it breaks the air flow sensor which is about £300 to replace? Anyone installed one of these??

mine should arrive tomorrow, fitting on weekend.
gonna remove as much excess oil from the inside of the filter, go for it!
reading tons of posts it looks more like people panicing, i feel pretty confident, if i'm wrong theres always the warranty!! :D
any comments? i'm pretty sure roly has had one on his car for quite a while now

I have a cone filter on my GT. the trubo is at the back of the engine and the filter sits at the front. even at crail with a big que it stayed cool. I would say that it depends on the car wither or not it works well. cone filters lose a bit of bottom end power but due to the restriction removal of the airbox you get a bit more top end. I don't get a noise with my filter at all

Fitted kit to my Cupra 4 months ago and the car was going great until last week when the Air Mass Meter failed or so the garage say, I meen the car still goes fine it just has a warning light on the dash now.

Roly has removed his filter due to problems.,(lost power)
