Whilst I have read good things about Swissol will it make much difference on a platinum grey car ?
My previous LC was plat grey and I used Meguires liquid gold when the car was brand new and to be honest I did not notice much difference compared to simply wasing the car.
Maybe I was doing something wrong :hide: or is it that plat grey is not dark enough to really see a difference ?
When I look at some ppls cars on this site after using Meguires, Swissol etc they really look great, as if they have a clear glass/wet look shine to them but they have always been black or metalic blue cars.

Biggest single difference I found (and I'm going on about it a bit now!) is to go through the normal stages (wash, pre-wax) and then use a paint sealant such as Autoglym Super Resin (I used Klasse All-in-one) and then put your wax on top of that. The sealant gives reflectivity and the wax gives the depth and wet look.
I've done this on my Ovni (harder to get the depth than any metallic) and it has made all the difference.

I used swissol on my black Leon and didn't notice a big difference (about 6mths old at the time), but on my 4yr old audi it seemed to make a big difference.

Zboyds car does look very nice but can you achieve the same level of deep shine/wet look that Robdon's car does here

Steve swissol is in a different class to Megs the reason it gives that really deep shine is it contains a high percentage of carnauba wax which is also why it is expensive.

Yes darker colours are better to see the deep shine but platium grey will also come up if you apply more than one coat of final wax.I did a z4 yesterday in grey and it looked great i used the wet look shine .

I will post pics when when done here is a thread from the customer.

Cheers Tony but I do not think I can stretch to Swissol right now, also I am not 100% convinced of the proposed results.
I am sure it is a great product but I would be gutted spending that sort of money and not noticing any difference.
I am not even convinced with meguirs as I currently have an Artic Grey Ibiza and last year I spent 3-4 hours cleaning and then waxing with meguirs gold class wax. Got to work the next day and a colleague of mine has the same car in the same colour and had taken hers to Tesco's to get cleaned, we parked next to each other and other than close up you could not tell the difference.
I know they are light coloured cars but still :censored:

I have never seen a car that has been cleaned with Swissol or whatever, but there is no chance in hell that the price is justified at all. Maybe if you have some sort of mental problem or something or are phenomenally rich, it may weel be worth it. I know that normally the more you pay the better the goods, however there is a line to be drawn somewhere and its drawn at paying those kind of prices for a wax that gets stuck on your car. Maybe if you were going to put your car in a transport museum it may be worth it, but you are driving it on the road where there are millions of contaminents everywhere. Man surely this is all a big joke where people are being taken advantage off. LOL OMG :-o I just saw that wax that costs £1280!!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha I find this all so funny :roflmao:

Actually, I think Swissol (or something of a similar calibre) is worth it to sell the car. I reckon, on an older car fully prepped it takes a couple of years off the look of the car. I was amazed at the result on my oldish Audi.

Im still using the pot of wax i bought over a year ago and its still half full, if i weighed up how much rubbish polish I would of bought in that time period, I know i've saved myself money buying Swissol.

The crazy concours stuff is for millionaires who do keep their cars in garages all the time, they are quite quite mad.

But the general purpose Swissol waxes, are extremely good value for money.

I could never achieve the finish I get without using Swissol - I've tried tons of different waxes and polishes and nothing can match the finish. It is expensive but it lasts a long, long time - from a personal point of view, yes it is worth it if you are serious about your car.
