Hi peeps
I've got a '97 cordy sx.
i've had it about 2 yrs and i've done all sorts of mods to it. i think its about ready for some POWER cos i'm REALLY bored of my 119bhp 1.6.
how much hassle is it going to be to find and fit a phat 225BHP.- then play with it?
i'd really like to do it myself or get involved as i have done a lot of the work on my car myself and dont want to lose touch with my project..
can you guys help me out with an idea of costs?

I'd need to speak to Andy (workshop) and see if we would do it, we COULD do it, its all down to time etc. To buy an engine and gearbox your lookin at a few grand for a good en. i'd say get a 2wd if you can, a 4wd would cause more problems, more work and therefore more £££££ :(
as for helpin in the shop to do it i dunno if we could for insurance reason :(:(
I'll do my best to find out though, would be a nice project imo

Ay Up Dan, nice to seeya on here...
...i was toying with the idea of 20VT'ing my Leon, but no sense for me as cheaper to just upgrade to Cupra, i hope you find the info you need as it would be awesome... JBS are the peeps to go to if you want to just send it off and get it back done, not sure if you wanna go more hands on tho...
Would be so so jealous either way tho :D:D:D

sweet mate.
Came over on saturday with Craig (lordstorm) ended up getting a neuspeed oil filler cap which (being shiny) has given me the need to get busy on the car again while i try and save some cash for this conversion.. !!
in the meantime i'd like to do a few things that will compliment the conversion when i can fund it, so i'd like a strut brace (preferably a black one) and can you please give me an idea can i get a boxer style supersprint exhaust for my car? 1997 cordoba SX AFT engine code.
cheers

Andy can you get us prices for the following:
S3 strut brace, the one that goes under the car at the back
Short gear change switch thingy, including fitting
Xenon headlights, including fitting
Engine bay seal that stops all the mucky stuff getting in
Chrome tacho rings including fitting?
I think thats it for now!

Hi funkin,
If you were after a strut brace you'd be lookin at one for an ibiza, is yours the equivalent of a mk2? After askin a few people the best thing with the exhaust is probably going for a custom job, Blue Flame are very highly recommended. And going back to your original post in here, unfortunately we couldnt do the engine conversion. Dubsport might wanna give it a go, i'm not sure.
Craig: i'm still hunting down some prices for you :)

i think its the same as a mk2 ibiza yes..
are these the same as any golf/polo's? as there seems to be loads available for VW and im sure the strut braces must be compatibile..

Hi Andy - No it's for me Cupra, but I believe the S3 brace strut is the best one to use which is compatible.

Short gear change switch thingy, including fitting - We'd need to see the car to confirm which quickshift will be suitable but it wont be a problem to get a Neuspeed item since their range is pretty big!
Xenon headlights, including fitting - We dont get involved with Xenon's sorry
Engine bay seal that stops all the mucky stuff getting in - never seen these tbh
Chrome tacho rings including fitting?
Have you got a shot of your clocks? are they like these:

Thats the same clocks as on my Ibiza, so might be interested in chrome rings also! Do you something to alter them to white also?

Hi Andy, been busy at work not had time to look back.
I have a similr setup, i.e. 2 big and 2 small but in different arrangement.
How much for fitting those little buggers?
