Leon Speaker Size Advice

Hi All,

I've started to upgrade the sound system in the car and need a bit of info on the door speakers.

What size are the standard speakers.?
What is the maximum mounting depth I can get away with.?

I don't really want to make any mods to the doors and would prefer to get something that drops straight in.

I'm looking at a set of Alpine SPR-136A or SPR-176A depending on the size of the existing speakers.

Turns out they are 17cm back and front.

I think that if you want to change the door speakers the only way to get the old ones out is to drill out the rivets holding them in. Don't quote me though.

If you wanted help you might have searched the forum first. I got 3 pages of results with threads featuring the words "Leon Speaker" I know some of them feature the information you want because I'm pretty sure I posted in at least one of them.
