ABF motor right?
Split duration cams give a good spread of peak power and low/mid torque. They work very well.
I run 260 inlet 270 exhaust - crane cams.

A good combination is 260 Schrick inlet and 276 exhaust, from dyno plts I have seen.
they need to be in a gas flowed head to allow them to work however, and the fueling and ignition will have to altered to suit the higher airflow gained from this improved breathing.

With my throttle bodies, my own 2ltr 16v, get 174bhp @ wheels, with 152lb/ft of torque, and over 130lb/ft available from 2700rpm. Not turbo cupra figures, but this baby revs to 7700rpm and pulls right up to the new rev limiter.

Autotechnik in Southampton could fit these for you. (02380 ****** ask for Ness and tell them Bill sent you)

Bill

thats about what, 204 brake at engine?? nice, no mention of a chip though?? how much are you talking for the cams? and also why must the head be flowed, is it for the cams to make a difference or some other reason? http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif

The cams will make the engine want to breath better, but the inlet/exhaust ports and valve shrouding will prevent the full potential from being developed. Power gains from just a gas flowed head are quoted to be in the region of 15-25bhp alone. Torque is greatly improved in low to mid from a flowed head only. Add some cams and the gains are everywhere. The exhaust ports are the weakest part of VW's design on the 16v head.
No mention of a chip in as many words, but "fueling and ignition would have to adjusted to suit", which is the chip/ecu.

Gas flowing is also called porting the cylinder head.
Prices vary between £400-£600.

The trouble with 16v's is there's 16 of the buggers!!! Twice as much work as 8v's - Go Figure http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif
think about the 20Vt's there's even more of the buggers !

Sadly - Money is always req'd to make engines produce more power. DOH!
