why should we discount cars that have good residual value and are on a waiting list.

Are you saying that you will not discount any money off a 1.8VT in your stock?

I am not one of the few people who pop at each other i am mereley enquiring.

I know your garage to be on the good side of customer care as opposed to the seemingly large number of bad ones we hear about.

However, when the official report came out about the prices of new cars within the Uk, Joe Bloggs had it set in pen and ink that he was being ripped off (even tho all parties new anyway)

I know that the blame lies with the manufacturers who strangle supply to keep prices artificially high (try ordering a 328i, they'd have u belive they make 5000 a year when they actually make 300,000 pa)

However, do you not think it is slightly off putting for a potential customer to see no movement or any forthcoming interest in their purchase?

The british car buyer needs to be wooed by a lot more than cheaper servicing!

At the end of the day, it is a £13,000 car that has not had the best reception in the motoring press, if i wewre buying an Impreza P1 i would expect very little movement in a deal. But thats a £30K car and recognised as the best on the road (Arguably)

I understand the need for a company to turn a profit, we all do or we would be unemployed, but to turn around and say point blank, tough we want as much money as possible. I personally dont feel that is on IMHO.

I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SAYING ABOUT PRICING AND DON'T GET ME WRONG I AM NOT SAYING WE DON'T DISCOUNT CARS, IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE INDIVIDUAL DEAL.

BUT REMEMBER THAT SEAT HAVE REDUCED THEIR PRICES A LOT ALREADY i.e. A 1.4 IBIZA WITH AIR CON AND ALLOYS 18 MONTHS AGO WAS NEARLY £10,000 AND TODAY WE SELL THAT SAME CAR AT LESS THAN £8,500.

BUT TO DO THIS THE DEALER MARGIN HAS BEEN AFFECTED AND THEREFORE WE ARE NOT IN SUCH A STRONG POSITION TO "DEAL" WITH CUSTOMERS BUT STILL HAVE TO PROVIDE THE FACILITIES AND AFTERSALES.

ALSO EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE STOCK CARS WE ARE STILL ABLE TO SELL THEM AND THE PURPOSE OF THE POST WAS TO HELP SOMEBODY BUY A CAR NOW RATHER THAN HAVING TO WAIT UP TO 3 MONTHS FOR A FACTORY ORDER ONE.

THANKYOU FOR YOUR INTERESTING COMMENTS.

Who sets the RRP's SEAT sa or SEAT UK

I know dealer margins have been affected, i have a friend who works for a large VAG dealership up the road.

Like i said i wasnt having a go, its just some of us get a little peeved at the prices we have to pay for motoring in general!!!!

But at least you offer your thoughts rather than most dealers who suddenly vanish

cheers

This is probably not the right forum, but there is a question here I would like to ask about the stock list above.

How come you now manage to have some more Leon Cupra's available? Are they second hand?

I am STILL waiting for Hertz and Seat to get their finger out of their arse and deliver my car. 2 weeks ago apparently my Imperial Blue Leon Cupra was "In transit to the UK". Last Wednesday it was "Waiting to dock, and be delivered to the dealership". Today it is back "In transit".

Did they take it back with them, or give it to somebody else? The car was supposed to arrive early July, then mid-July, now late July, and from what I've heard it takes about 2 weeks to get from the Docks to the dealers, and then to me, because of safety and pdi checks etc etc.

I'd only ever seen one Cupra on the road until about 2 weeks ago - I've since seen about another 7!

What's going on?!

Make sure you pay close attention to the paint work, My Imperial Blue Ibiza Cupra was covered in swril marks and had a few chips out of it!!! Still waiting for SEAT UK to do something about it!!!

If your looking to buy a new Ibiza Cupra, try Carneys and Hill in Ipswich. I got mine from there in December (7 day delivery, in silver) discounted from £14235 to £12535 on the road. Better deal than most do now even after the £1000 list price reduction.

Garneys and Hill 01473 726551 - ask for Mathew Smythe

onvi ibiza cupra sold....... Bugger!

12 weeks? Any improvement likely?
Do SEAT dealers inter-trade like VW ones do... ie if Amethyst don't have one, can you get one (if available) from another dealer?

Does it work like that?
cheers

Speaking to him at Castle Combe on Monday, Graham is off on holiday at the moment. You might need to wait until next week for a response? If you want to speak to one of the salesmen then shout back and I'll post the phone number.

Nice!

The price I mentioned is full on the road with 12 months TAX + free delivery. Oh, and you still get the Seat extended years 2 and 3 warranty as the end supplier is a UK Seat dealer.

I can EMail you contact details if you would like.

I have a Ebony Black Ibiza Cupra that I bought a few months ago.

I got mine for £12,000 including a cd multi changer, but I was trading in a tip top condition Clio that they were going to make a killing on (actually they made £1500 on it from what they paid me), so they could afford to cut the price.

I went in to order mine and had it within 4 days..!! It had just arrived on the forecourt the day I went in (lucky) however the place I went to have one of each colour in at the moment for sale. They have a good supply of cars and noted they could have any of them within a few weeks if they didn't have one already ordered.

Trenton Garage in Hull is the place, reasonable sales team and good customer service, they seem happy to take mine back in to iron out the squeaks it had developed (door panel seals needed lubricating).

I am well impressed with my car, and now fancy getting it lowered a bit (if possible?) and possibly looking at if I can chip it without totally voiding my warranty and causing the garage's to refuse to service my car?

Cheer..
