View Full Version : Trouble finding a decent exhaust
Any ideas on a stainless steel backbox, local shop said the only thing that would fit was supersprint, which was ok but wanna know what others have before I go handing over my hard earned cash - plus I prefer the oval style.
Any ideas ?

try the fat look, look at supertrapp slip on like the ones at motocykles.I put one one my Vario Tdi 110hp and it works great and itīs tunable too so its extremly good on turbo engines.

You could always get powerflow to make you one up. I got a sportstek backbox fitted on Friday but it won't be on for long. The sound is fine it's just that it sits under the bumper which means it's quite low. I've already bashed it on a manhole outside my house and dented one of the tailpipes! Oh and it scraped on the floor in the multistory on Sat too. I've mooved it up on the rubber a bit but it's coming off. I think I'll go to powerflow and get 'em to make me a quiet full system.

Well, Iam still no convinced - I saw a duplex system - which is supposed to fit SEATS, have seen it on an Ibiza but not sure if it fits Cordoba - again it hanges under the bumper - not so keen - Think I might take up the option on SJBSPORT Ģ175 for backbox and conecting pipe.

ovv,
i got a sportstek one off mark p and its nice, at idle theres a deep bassy note and up to 2500rpm it gets louder and after that it only goes up at high revs, not too much be constantly followed by the peelers but loud enough for you to know its there! twin 3 inch pipes fairly fill the bottom left of the bumper too
will ty to get pics up soon

Does it hang miles under the bumper. It did on mine but I figure yours is newer. I think the mountings or something are different.

If you want to fiddle around a bit you could try something like the rage Box i'm getting, (see back of fast car for ad) they do stainless boxes for very cheap prices, you will need to fiddle around with the joining point to the centre pipe and maybe modify the mountings, but if you want something different its worth it.

I replaced the sportstek with a supersprint and personally I wouldn't have anything else now... It's really quiet, abou tthe same as standard, which for me having an ICE car is perfect. It still sounds great though with a nice note, just not loud. I'd recommend them. A few people commented how good my Cordy sounded at the track day so it must be good...

pete, it is sitting just below the bumper, but this weekend i intend it to be sitting in a newly made gap in the abs plastic below the bumper :)
Your exhaust was really quiet, actually surprised, cause, as you went round the corners all you could hear was the tyres trying to grip !! :)
Right,
Thanks guys thats settled it - supersprint it is for me, I want a nice Oval and like I said before - the only one I liked was supersprint, I was abit worried about the noise as I prefer the meaty induction kit sound to the deep bass boy racer sound - so now you have said it looks the part and its quietish as well , I think you guys have sold it to me - cheers pete.
On a completely different subject, Scotty you bumper is mad, I contacted Stuart at Sc perfomance back in the middle of October - he was gonna see about getting on made up for me - dont worry I wont cramp your style - Aberdeens a fare distance from you - anyway I emailed him confirmation of my order with me address and stuff, I have tried emailing him a few times since then but he hasnt replied - Just wanna know if my bumper is still gonna be made up - do you know him personally, could you ask for me please mate -

sjbsport was definatley the cheapest for the supersprint. I phoned a few places.

I'm good mates with Stuart, and mine was the prototype to see if it worked, which it has. At the moment he's had a more demand for them than he expected- 4 at last count! so instead of having to wait for six weeks for them to be delivered and modified he's approached a company who can make a mould of mine, and produce them in a few days.
I think he's been having a few glitches with his mail, so that's why he hasn't replied.
As far as I know its all still in progress, let me know if you get any more problems and i'll let him use my mail to talk to you.

Just how it should be, I was really pleased with the sound. I don't want anything that drowns out the ICE..... If that's possible.....
Pete
not sure what you mean...I know he's never attached electrodes to one, or rubbed a new brand of shampoo in its eyes ;)

what i mean scotty is, in the same way your bumper used to be a golf combat kit bumper, does he modify f2 bumpers per chance, ie add big round driving lamps and stuff?
As for the electrodes, been there wouldnt reommend it!!
get your drift now, he will have a go at anything - I was intending to get the f2 and put spots in before I got the current one which Stu knocked up for cheaper.
