"as well as models with the new super-clean piezo-injection, particulate-filtered 2.0 TDI diesel engine (170bhp). That engine is also likely to go into the Golf range in the not-too-distant future"

If the diesel engine is going in the Golf and the Jetta, you would assume(hope) that it is also going to go into the Leon ..

Thoughts?

well seeing as the range is kicking off with the 140 tdi going in the lower end.

u would assume that the 170 would definatley be the new fr,

hopefully they will bring out a cupra tdi as well like the ibiza range now.

seeing as the 1.9 started out at 75bhp and ended up at 160bhp

im sure there will be a 2.0 tdi in the 200bhp figures

maybe the new leon tdi cupra

I'm just came from Martorel and latest news are:

October 2005-Altea FR (2.0 Turbo Fsi 200Hp)
Early 2006-Leon Fr (same engine like Altea FR)

Stronger engine or 2.0 16v Tdi (170Hp), also 1.6 Fsi is not in them agenda for this and next year

That's one of the launch engines for the new Passat, so there'll be plenty of tuning options by the time it is out in the Leon.
