View Full Version : 1.4 16v 100ps Induction Query (with pics)
Hi guys,
I've tried a couple of times to find out how to fit unduction to my Ibiza as it has a few extra pipes that my rover didnt have. But not really got much information as yet however I have now took pictures, annotated so hopefully someone can help.
Please see below. I think I know what the 2 pipes are (as described) however I want to know what I have to put on the pipe at the bottom (looks like something to do with exhaust?)
Any help gratefully received!

Have a look around the uk-polos.net site as our lass has a polo sport (100bhp) and they dont recommend fitting them and i haven't yet found one for our lass even tho they sound like bikes anyway
If you do find one however send me a pm please

qifop your right the induction kit (which make btw?) goes onto the top chamber, the bottom one labelled wtf? is just a warmer pipe for cold starting, it takes hot air and puts it back through the engine to get it warmed up quicker (better emissions and saves a tiny amount of fuel as it doesnt use as much fuel when warm.
the oil breather usually has a breather fitted to it. Again it depends on which make you have, green cotton kits supply a second smaller breather.

Is yours the 100 bhp model and if so where did you get the filter from?

no its the 75ps model, but it the same fitment etc, its a green induction kit i have, i got it from a local shop, cost 95 quid, it come with a cold air flow pipe which isnt pictured, i bought a piper x one though as the one that come with the kit is useless.
Whilst i have your attention. I've asked this question a few times before. But just out of interest. What gives my car the extra 25 horses over the standard 1.4? Presumably if its just remapping then is this something that the 75ps people could look at doing for a good power gain £ vs horses?
Where did you get that kit from? Notice any performance increase or just noise? I would be looking to fully heat shield it (have a friendly metal fabricator! :D )

I havent clue what the difference is mate, id love to know though, il give the part number of the kit which you can order from the Green Website. Performance has improved and the sound quality is very good, nice note of it paired up with the supersprint exhaust i have fitted.

Have found something!!! He said you can probably get it cheaper elsewhere.....
There are differnet ones listed for both the 1.4 16v (75Bhp) and 1.4 16v (100Bhp) engines....

Hiya.
Just read this. The 1.4 16v (100 BHP) that i see a lot round my way has a BMC Carbon Dynamic Airbox induction kit with a K&N Apollo Cold Air Feed. This works very vell and fitment is simple. Plus, having a cold air feed means the faster you go, the more air it gets ;)
thanks alot, I am going to get a cold air box fabricated up then tubing from factory air intake. Does that kit come with smaller filter for breather like Green ones do?
Is that the same engine then in the 1996+ polo 1.4 100bhp?
Also anyone got the part number for the plastic box that converts air intake into a tubular output. If you look on the FR's etc they have a box to take air to a pipe to airbox whereas mine has a rubber flange which just directs air towards engine cover inlet? Its the part attatched the slam strip at front of engine
Thanks guys.

The induction kit i have is specifically designed for my car mate, i defo notice a gain from the kit, its not much, but noticable. Your not going to get much gains from a 1.4 16v engine neway.

just for are add this, since i was told that the first 1.4 16v sport engine was 100bhp, but they stopped making it and just stuck with the 75bhp version still 16v sport
The new "sport" 1.4 seems completely different to the older 100ps version. From what i've heard and seen at dealer it only has 15" rims, doesnt have rear disk brakes, trip computer, TCS and has the 75ps engine.
I think they have just brought the new "sport" out to sell some of the SE spec models but added the sport interior and trim?
