just thought this may be of some use .i have just made a heat shield for my induction kit on me 1.8 16v.it didn't take too long (would have been quicker if i'd owned a jig saw)AND i may be wrong but it does seem to have improved on pick up and the engine temp was slightly better.now some people out there will put it down to air temp etc etc and i've been thiking that myself but ,there is one definite thing has has changed and that is the noise is deeper and not so loud ,i'm going to leave it on to see how it goes and no doubt the track day will be a good test bed .see ya there
