Easier to suggest the word 'Chair' than 'Seat'!

Right, this has been around in the forums before but can't remember what the problem is. I've got the age old driver's seat problem where something keeps clicking into place round the corners, and you can here the ring from a spring that obviously holds something in place. At first it wasn't too bad but now I can be bimbling along and it's doing it. The bloody thing's driving me nuts!

Does anybody know a remedy? Please don't tell me junk the seat and start again but that's what I think you lot are going to tell me! Claire (my girlfriend) is getting on alright on the passenger side so it's obviously a wear & tear issue.

Ta muchly for any help...

i have the 1/2 leather variety and its fine on mine, have done 30k in last 15 months and only signs of wear inside are the floormats and the steering wheel isnt just as grippy as it was when new!
on and a wee mark where i used to sit with my walet in my pocket rbbing against the leather, no major marking tho.

Cheers for the info.

My seats are of the cloth variety, so they're showing a little sign of wear but nothing excessive. I'll check out these nylon bush thingies and see what I can do.

Otherwise it could indeedy be time for a change. Hope not, wanted to get the car chipped this summer. I guess the race is on between you and me Brendy on gettin' 'em chipped!

:D

I wonder if Jabbasport take credit cards! hehe.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Found those nylon square thingies in the runners but it looks like I'm going to have to spend some time on this at the back-end of June (lots going on with bike rallies and band stuff). I'll let you know how I get on.

In fact, I think I might get it chipped first. I haven't done much research, but Jabbasport are up the road from me (about 20 miles away) and they provide a chip for the car. I don't actually know if they can do the ABF angine but I'll give them a call sometime soon and find out what the deal is. I'll keep you informed.

Do you know of anyone else that can do this sort of engine mapping for VAG or SEAT cars?
