Every one should check out www.vwvortex.com (http://www.vwvortex.com) . Goto the forums and check out the tuning section for the 1.8t. In there you will find information and parts reviews for almost everything. 1.8t engines are pretty much all the same. There are many companies that make parts it the states for the Golf, Jetta, and Bug that will fit on the Ibiza and Cupra. I have an ATP exhaust manifold with a T04 turbo, a 4 bar fuel pressure regulator, RC 311cc fuel injectors, Neuspeed turbo inlet pipe, and a Split Second Boost System Controller. I also have a custom made 2.5 inch down pipe, with a 2.5 inch exhaust. I am still using the stock intercooler ( I am working on an WRC style intercooler right now, routing the tubes is a pain in the butt) and I have had no problems, I have made my own intercooler tubes as the stock plastic bits are very restrictive.I have not yet dynoed the car, but I know I am in the area of 250 to 265 hp. I have read in these forums that people dont think the car could handle that much power, well this is my daily driver and it behaves almost like when it was stock. Just alot faster. If any one needs info or help let me know.
One last thing, this wont boost power too much but for a cheap kick. The air filter used on the Ibiza and Cupra 1.8t is the same that was used on the MKII Golf 16v, so you can use a drop in K&N air filter.

Im Interested in camparing ideas. I just got a K04 Turbo for my Ibiza and the new software for the ECU. I will be installing it on Wednesday 11. I also got a larger intercooler but it will take about 3 more weeks to arrive, so for now its just the turbo. Supposedly it will be good for 232HP as is, 247 with the Intercooler. What do you think?

Anyway, i recognized that i don't really need a car any faster than my 16 valver. I noticed that i am cruising below speed limits nowadays. Whatta fekk?!!

I am installing a K04 Turbo on my Ibiza and found one little difference. The dump valve on the K04 has only one pressure hose, the one on the K03 has 2.
Can anybody tell me if I need to close off one of the hoses or what is the solution?

Mate,
Sounds as though you've found yourself an "atmospheric" dump valve....one that releases the pressure to air rather than back into the exhaust system (whooshy whooshy)
The KO3 used the "re-circulating" type of dumper...which had 2 exits (one from the turbo and one going to the exhaust system).
If you are running higher than normal boost of around 12psi...then your KO4 dumper might work. But on a 1.8 20VT engine...I wouldn't recommend it anyway

Guys
I think i may be confused here. What im talking about is the wastegate (I think) not the Dump Valve. Its the valve that pushes the rod on the Turbo itseft to expell pressure.
My "Wastegate" valve has 2 hoses on the original K03. The one the new K04 has 1.
I checked on a new Leon and it also only 1 hose, so its something specific to the Ibiza.
What should I do to the second hose? I coould also remove the "wategate" from the original turbo and install it on the new one. What do you think?
