ok bought a 98 8v cupra last july from dealer when driving off it had a very slight misfire you could feel it when feathering the throttle and when under half foot to floor ie in 3rd
on tickover after a few secounds you could feel the car missing anyway went back to seat no fault found i was told took it back again and again and again still no fault found
went back for the 5th time yes we have found a fault lamba sensor!!!! that was replaced went to pick it up gues what still missing abit took turned round drove straight back left car overnight got a phone call to say it was ready and the air intake pipe had worked loose and was sucking too much air in
still misfiring to cut a long story short was told by seat after the tenth visit bearing in mind the dealer is a 50 mile round trip from where i live " the cars fine mate must be your driving !!!"
any way a friend at C&R in nottingham said quite a common fault on golfs etc fueling retarded back for emission laws take it to amd
for a remap phoned them up explained problem dropped the car in picked it up a few hours later asked him if had cured the fault
the reply was " what fault was told to remap only" any way after it seemed ok for a week or so decided to replace plugs leads cap etc nothing
back to square on again any thoughts would be a big help
