Guys

Im trying to install a K04 turbo on my Ibiza and have one problem.

My wastegate valve on the turbo itself (the one that pushes a metal rod and opens the turbos wastegate) is different on the new turbo.

The "Wastegate" valve has 2 hoses on the original K03. The one the new K04 has 1.

I checked on a new Leon and it also only 1 hose, so the 2 hoses is something specific to the Ibiza.

What should I do to the second hose? Plug it up? I could also remove the "wategate valve" from the original turbo and install it on the new one? Would I need to recalibrate the position on the two nuts on the Rod itself? What do you think?

Hey rriveroll, have you figured your problem with the two vacuum lines on your waste gate. Please keep me informed.

What I did in the end was to eliminate the small hose. The small hose does to a "T". I removed the "T" and put in a straight tube and thats it. This was recommended by the person I bought the Kit from. Unfortunately the ECU was damaged in shipment and I´m still wainting on a new one which should be here next week, so I dont know yet if it will work properly. I can tell you one thing, the K04 turbo alone without the reprogramed ECU doesnt really make much difference in power (kind of obvious).

Now Im looking for a large intercooler. Can you help?

the vacuum line from the rod end is the one to remove. If you follow it to the top of the engine, it leeds to an electrically controlled vacuum valve. Unplug the valve and remove it. The other line on this valve runs to a "T" fitting, remove the fitting and install an "L" fitting to join the remaining lines. This "extra" vacuum line is used to controll the "Power delivery" of the engine in these little cars. It is done by applying vacuum to the "wrong side" of the wastegate to retard boost. As far as the intercooler goes, try www.spearcointercoolers.com (http://www.spearcointercoolers.com) they can make it, if you can draw it. I havent gotten that far yet in my mods, still using the stock cooler. If there is anything else you need just let me know. Later
