Took delivery of my Hurrican kit today and within 40min was on my car. Very easy to fit and looks the dogs!! Very quiet tho but i am led to believe it will get louder after a few miles. Not that i want it to be mega loud but i wouldn't mind been reminded every time i floor it what i just spent my reddies on!!:p

Just ordered my kit yesterday.

Has to be shipped, so it still will take a week or two.
Got a black Leon Cupra4 2.8/V6. Ordered the chrome
model and I'm anxious to see what the differences are
going to be.
One thing. I live on an island in the Caribbean sea, and
it's pretty dusty from march to about july. This to that stupid Sahara desert sand being kicked up and carried about 8000 km downwind.

I just understood that the Hurricane uses pre-oiled filters.
Is this right? and if so, would this require a more extensive
maintenance program for my Hurricane?

p.s. I've open the filterbox once and removed the panel filter.
Didn't notice too much dust, just two black "nike swooshes" (or at least the shape was similar). It wasn't completely black, just that air passes there more frequently that other areas.

A bit off topic. I don't know about the 20VT engines, but the V6 air intake is SOOOOO small. I find it incredible that the engine is not starved of air. Place your 2 thumbs side by side together, and that's how wide the intake is. The lenght is your thumb plus about 2 cm. THAT's IT !
If someone could remove that small inlet, and make a hose so you catch colder air from down below the engine, that alone will give you more power.........

The noise I think is also very dependant on boost levels being run, and perhaps also the DV fitted.
I am going to swap my Forge 006 for the stock valve and see the difference.
Ade(trog) came down Friday and we swapped cars for a test drive of suspension settings etc, and his is quite a lot noisier than my own - APR(trog), Oettinger (me)

And as for the comment re the inlet size being so small. Yep! The 20VT Ibiza is also as tiny as described, as standard.

Picked up my Hurricane from Bill this evening, only took 30 mins to fit.
I have just got back from a test spin around some private roads it pulls like a train i cant belive a filter can make this much diffrence.
The indution noise on mine from new is quite throaty but its certianly no quite, you can here the DV dumping in the lower gears.
I'm well impressed another quality product from Bagder5
many thanks Bill

John,
Is your car standard apart from the Filter. Standard DV??
Ive done 80 miles with the hurricane on and its now louder. Very deep. If you put the window down you can here it "whistle". Very Fast and the Furious!!:D :D

Well that will be why your hurricane is making more noise than mine.

How much was the Hurricane kit for the 1.8 20vt Ibiza? When you say it took between 30-40 mins to fit was it easy?

£150 and easy step by step instructions. A 3 year old could fit it

Cool, that sounds fairly reasonable. Is there any other kits available or is this regarded as the best?

I think this is the one to buy. Haven't actually heard of any others that have been fitted. As you can see from the pic of my Hurricane, it's a tasty bit of kit.

I have a K&N 57i kit fitted. No mentionable change actually. The sound in the lover revs does sound deeper (imo better) and when the turbo kicks in and I release the gaspedal it makes a light whooshy noise (as with the forge DV) so that's quite cool. But I knew that I would buy the 57i kit for the sound and not for the increase of HP.

The installment of the K&N filter sucks though. Well, that is.. when they deliver the wrong parts and all stores are closed :)

Anyway, in short.. I am not wild of the 57i kit... but I am not dissatisfied either.

I tried green filter on my beeza. It looks similar to the hurican, but I get no more sound with it as with standard one. How many noise does hurricane make?

Ive now done about 100 miles with my Hurricane. To start off it was very quiet but now has a deep lush noise. Car is now pulling much better. Had a wee race with a MR2 last night and we were level till i was in 2nd gear. Half way thru the revs in 2nd he was left for dead. I know its only a induction kit but it has made big difference. Buy one!!!!

I think it takes a while to kick in cause the ECU needs to reset to it ??

:) fitted it this morning, little hold up cause me 10mm socket was missing doh, other than that, quite easy to fit.

Am impressed, not quiet at all, i drove the car about for over 2 hrs this afternoon, and the ammount of ppl that turned round to look as i went past.Pulling more from low down.Really rumbles from low revs, then comes on more of a level note with the turbo but still loud, cool when u lift off, and change gear, then back on again, really give u more of an idea of whats going on under the bonnet,

how one simple mod can change ya car so much, I do now need the exhaust now though, let all this extra air get out..

 bill

had big smile on me face all day
