View Full Version : Winscreen / roof junction
Does your altea have a habit of using the lip at the leading edge of the roof to kill hundreds of bugs? :)
I've only been driving mine a couple of days and the front edge of the roof is plastered with bugs that have been wafted up the windscreen, only to mercily guillotined by the roof line !
It looks like they designed the step in the metal to take a 10mm thick glass windscreen, yet only fitted a 4mm screen :)

cannot say i have noticed even when cleaning. i am now curious so will take a look next time i use the car.
I actually suffer the same on my Leon, forsuch a small surface area, the bug kill is HUGE!
Yeah I get that and its always the big messy bugs that manage to get splatted in that gap, and they are always right in the middle so you have to stretch right across to try and get them out
Mind you the ones imparled on the front of the car provide the maximum amount of trouble to remove in terms of area.

the gap at the top top of the screen is standard on all vag designed cars it allows quick and easy access for removing the glass, it started on the early golf mk4 and the polo. The glass comes complete with trin already on the glass. saving you money on trims and making my job alot easier(i work for auto windscreens) its just something you will have to live with,i do but yeh they do kill alot of bugs, try slowing down if your that concerned :D  [B)]
or go faster they might bounce off;)
