Just out of interest are the individual coils / plug caps on the Ibiza the same as others in the 20VT range, esp the Leon Cupra ? Was just wondering as one of mine failed today and me dealer says that they are all different. I guess I just wanna see how honest my service man is being with me.

on the 4 June 2002 one of my coils busted too

depends on engine code AQX beeza's r diferent but i believe the AYP beeza uses the same as the 20VT leon

Thanks Roly, mine is an AYP, I'll talk to him tomorrow. ALIBAKER - looks like a common thread here my dealer seems to be struggling but he reckons he can source one from a local VW garage....worth a try. Let me know how you get on.

I got 3 seat dealers all within 30 miles of me, and one of them has the part, (Bedford). so my car got low-loaded to Cambridge and they're gonna fit the coil pack, and do its 10000 mile service too.
But cos i didn't book my car in with any notice, I ended up with some Cordoba Vario grrr, I wanna have a go in a Leon Cupra, dunno if they have one as a courtesy car though.
Just out of interest mines a AYP too, Also one dealer said that its quite a common fault and perhaps worth changing all the coil packs at the same time. Any thoughts on this??
i think u would have 2 pay 4 em if u wanted em all replaced m8.
u'll only get em covered under warranty if they actually go wrong/fault, warranty won't replace working parts if they dont require it.
