Tried to take the standard blk one off can unscrew it but can get no further is there any special way local place said it was probaly bust in side ???????
on another note how do you get the nasty gear knob off been trying to get it off any ideas

think the areil has to be yanked off ,after first unscrewing.
which car do you have ,the gear knob on the mk2 just unscrews if ya have a mk3 ......sorry dunno:cheers:
Ariel : Anti-theft, but comes away when fully unscrewed and given a sharp hard pull.
Gearknob : Feel down round the inside of the gaiter mount. On the right (drivers side) the should be two clips which you slide to the left 'through the gaiter'. When unclipped the gaiter surround should lift off. When lifted right up, a metal clip is exposed, this needs cut. Piece of piss after that bud.

when your taking it off matey, be very very careful cause i think i remember someone telling me that they ended up taking half of their roof up into a big mound when they tried that!!, whats wrong that you need to remove it?? i think it looks nice on the cordy!! unless yours isnt a beesting??
sounds like a split ring on the end of the thread that needs pulling over the end many peeps have done it with no harm tho.
daz widdowd has put an alloy one on his and said it was easy,mind he's a big lad, so easy if you can reach it ,i'd need a ladder:cheers:
