Is there going to be a FMIC produced for the MK4 Ibiza TDI? I know you can get the Seat one, but it requires the Cupra bumpers (or extensive mods to the standard one). What I was hoping for was something that would fit properly behind the standard bumper without too much trouble or cutting.
If you already produce one, how much is it?
Ta.
They have just done one for the Fabia, so I guess it should be to hard to swap it onto the Ibiza.
Ken, just take your fogs out. You get a lot of air to the SMIC that way!
I know why you won't take them out...you live in Colchester - innit!

I don't want big holes in my bumper where the fogs should be!
Anyway, it's Southend where they have their fogs on all the time. Cops actually pull you over if they catch you with them on here.

Yeah.. ive seen that one... looks nice

looks a bit restrictive on the right had side with that double 90 bend, the cupra one is a twin pass design., dunno which would be better

any one wanna guess if this fits an ibiza , or which is cheaper , this is or the cupra 1 , the forge is 646 inc VAT

I think the Seat FMIC comes to more than that if you add all the pipes into the cost and don't forget you either need to take a hacksaw to your bumper or get new Cupra bumpers to get it to fit.

ye well i got the cupra kit, i dunno if ud need all the pipes if u buy silicon bends and inserts
The drawbacks i can see with the seat kit, there are restrictions in the pipework, as the pipes kinda "flatten" out to get round the aircon rad..
the Forge solution is the same bore right the way thru the system.
no idea if it would fit a seat tho.. my guess is no as the lower pipework makes use of the huge amount of space in a vRS bumper. :)

Well thats me & I think the 130 PD is in tomorrow
and just to let you all know, no doubt the ibiza fmic will be just as good as the fabia one... which is frikkin amazing.. every day feels like a icy winter morning for driving the car..it maintains fuel economy in hot weather, and generally improves performance  oh... it looks the shiznitt too :)

Just got back from Forge with the new FMIC and all I can say is that IT ROCKS!
It's not the final thing yet as they need to swap it for a 50mm core instead of the 40mm that's in there atm, but the needle just rockets round to the redline with a nice growl from 2500rpm onwards. I didn't get much chance to see what the car will do now, due to traffic, but it certainly pulls alot better than it did.
Top job from Richard and the guys at Forge! :worship:

aye phoned today , wont be released for 6-8 due to testing , he did say the actual cooler is completely different to the fabia so there goes that idea i had,
It looks like the same core, but due to a different shape bumper and a different crash bar, it needed different end tanks, and concequently its a dual pass as opposed to the straight thru one on the furby

No idea to the first question and no to the other.
The only opinion I have is from my pants which definately say it's better than it was. :)

If Rich is responsible for that awful image compression - he's getting a slap, if it's Peter, he's taller than me, so it's OK :)
very good inlet temps tho - I guess that on 'stock' rather than remaped
stoneyfordNI
20-09-2005, 20:31
would the drops be greater or less on a remapped car mork
the temperature would rise considerably on a remaped car with stock IC, I suspect that the inlet temps will be scaled in a similar way
It's a good thing either way

at 595 + VAT its not a cheap piece of kit
quality is rarely cheap
but don't forget you'll see a 10% discount
Maybe a GB as there has been for most FMIC that they have made recently
