anyone had problems with their carcept vented side skirts. mine are falling to bits.it has driven me to contact the manufacurer about them.if anyone has problems and wants to vent their distaste get some photoes to me and i'll put it together with mine and send them a rocket .it seems to me that the outer rear section is just not strong enough for daily use, this makes the skirt look shite.anyone know what rights i have as to getting new bits or money back and of course there's the fitting and painting too. many thanks

Jason,
I don't have any Carcept side skirts but have some Sportstek ones (fibreglass)on a Cordie. I had to fit some serious mudflaps (ooer) to save them from being completly shagged.
Problems with non-standard side skirts are usually (all sing along.....)
1. Dont hold the paint.
2. Are white and so look awful when they are chipped after going 100 yards down the road.
3. Get in the way of the car jack when you try to change a tyre (or clean your calipers - sad) - especially if you've droppped it 60mm.
4. They dont use the manufacturers fixing points down the side and can flap about / fall off because of the stupid double sided sticky /spongy stuff used to fix them.
5. Dont fit right along the top edge - Grr.

I don't know if anyone has tried bonding modded skirt to the standard IBIZA skirt - at least it will stay on.

Using some rally mudflaps from Demon Tweeks (available in various colours, but not yellow :-)) You can at least protect them.

yeh s'what i thought,
A.my 1.816v didn't come with factory side skirts or i would have kept them as they're plastic.
B,it's a bit late for flaps as they are now fubar.
C,can't even afford to get them refurbed,so it'll look shit @traxx.
D,i've had a gutful of styling i'm gonna put my thoughts towards getting the old bitch up to about 165-170 bhp.
E,thanks for the post,
