Radio Switching On By Itself

Hello.

Ibiza 1ltr 2000 :

Any Idea why the radio turns itself on for no apparent reason even when no ignition is on? (Reminds me of that film Christine!)

Its one of these inbuilt dash type RDS radio & Cassette built into the centre consul with the large information LCD screen. Also the outside temperature info on the screen is reading incorrect temp.

sounds like u need a new radio m8, no idea what goes wrong with em, but lets say we've done a few.
take it 2 ur dealer and they should b able 2 order u a replacement from grundig.
as 4 ur temp reading, probably going 2 b ur external temp sensor in the n/s wing mirror, we've also done a few of these, again dealer should b able 2 sort 4 ya

Got a new 07 SEAT LEON 2, just over 2 weeks old has just started to do the same thing, first time come on full blast, nearlly jumped out of my skin, second time come on today, but no sound, this was while i was driving though[:@]
