Yep I saw it too. I was very impressed with it, although it will be interesting to see how much different a standard model will look from a cupra/FR? It could be a case of when the leons first came out and to the normal joe public a 11k leon looked no different than a £18k one.
Loved the interior too. Noticed the rear wiper was a fabia style one so there is one mod gone for most of you. Looked similar to an alfa with those rear doors. Would defo be interested if I didn't already have my cupra.

I must admit i was very impressed by it, didn't much like what i had seen in pictures but in the flesh that really looked a smart car.
Be looking forward to a cupra or fr version!
very nice only another 55k on my car and I can get one :)
I saw it at Croft on sunday aswell, in fact i think i was there when that picture was being taken, i sized up the rear wiper for my Ibiza already, and i have to say i really liked the interior, especially the front seats.
Can anyone post some more pictures of it??

Erm, loads of people?
I think the bog standard Leon looks boring and is greatly enhanced by the bodykit additions that the Cupra R has, not to mention the 18" wheels.
I'm hoping the new Cupra R will also look significantly beefier.

There will be no Cupra R (for the 100th time)
They're rebalancing it to be FR-> Cupra
so the Cupra will be the 'top' model

Being generous with 1999 m0rk! - dont get me wrong I like it but it's looking well old and tired.
Trying to get the thread back on track (perhaps one day a new Leon thread irrespective of the threads focus wont mention the LCR / Altea :-o ), could you post a few more of the pics to the thread please Scott.

Have to agree with RobDon, think it looks pants.
Wheels and wings wont make that crap look better, turd and polish comes to mind!
didn't they just slap a bodykit, big wheels onto the base spec leon & call it an R?
no difference in that & what you call it.....
Except its a more advanced, running on a better chassis, more modern engines, better supportive seating, safer all round vehicle to be in.
Im kind of glad people don't like it though, means i can get top dollar for my R when i sell it to buy a new Leon :D
And i buy a car to please no one but myself.

Yeah I know, but other than a name change they will still be the equivalent to a Cupra and Cupra R.

compared to bread n butter models on offer now it looks way better to me ,
and why all the slating as these arnt the sporting models ? wait guys wait u will be part exing your car soon :roflmao:

so u like driving a rehased audi a3 with poor quality interior then ! apart from the steering wheel. :roflmao:
and yes i do own a leon and yes the interior is shite not as good as my 2001 model.
