AndyHazza
20-07-2005, 12:43
Its a shame cos i'd love one for mine but, as i think all Ibiza cupra owners know, with the charge pipe coming the way it does it makes it a bit harder to sort out a cover.

awesomeade
20-07-2005, 13:33
Again its a car the yanks dont have so doubt we will see them for the sales that they would get :(

Scotty_b
20-07-2005, 23:52
Cheers anyway.

Quite a few yank srun TT'S?? Or is that because our mags only show us yank pics of cars we know?

RobDon

AndyHazza
22-07-2005, 09:42
We are still waiting to get the final price for them, but once we know we'll have it posted up straight away.

Rob: by the way (not meaning to hijack the thread) but where did you get the new angel eyes for your Leon??? been looking for people that do them for ages!

RobDon
22-07-2005, 09:58
Patrick in Germany: schmpa@T-Online.de They do say LHD but they are E marked and have more than enough adjustment to move them to point down to the left - I have done so and nobody has flashed me yet, even with the HID's, so I guess they are ok.

AndyHazza
22-07-2005, 10:02
They look great, any pictures in the daylight? Also what kind of prices are they (very cheeky i know :p

reply from carbonio re 225 cover:

"yes we are looking at making this item. I have asked APR to send us a plastic OEM cover from which we can make a sample part. Price should be the same as for the other covers."

RobDon
14-08-2005, 23:42
Seems rather expensive considering it has less carbon than the Forge one!?!

Craig!
15-08-2005, 01:20
No doubt this one is a vaccume formed epoxy resin version, meaning its stronger, lighter and all those cut out's take time to do! In the world of carbon you only get what you pay for... only problem is not many are willing to pay fr the best due to the expense!!

AndyHazza
15-08-2005, 08:59
There is a reason for having the slats in the carbon. Its all down to the heat coming from the engine. Your standard cover has ventilation to allow cooling of the coilpacks, which the forge one does not. That is the reason why Carbonio made one with the slits in it. Not as a fashion statement or to look better.

AndyHazza
16-08-2005, 14:07
Yours is sent out to you today Rob i think :)

RobDon
16-08-2005, 14:12
Cool - I was half pulling your leg, I was well aware of the benefits of the cooling slats, should go nicely with my BMC CDA! I have heat-resistant wrapping around all my coil pack wires anyway, seen a few become brittle and broken due to the heat around there.

I assume these are still not for the LCR?

awesomeade

i'd be suprised if an engine cover made much noise.... :bleh:

RobDon
17-08-2005, 15:01
Received the cover today, looks great but you'd think Carbonio would actually try and get their sticker on straight, a squint stickers looks SO bad, it will be coming straight off!

AndyHazza
17-08-2005, 15:23
You got any pictures of it on yet Rob?

One thing we cant check without opening all the boxes :(

RobDon
17-08-2005, 15:28
Will fit it tomorrow, just opened it to make sure it wasn't damaged in transit, noticed the rather squint sticker!

AndyHazza
17-08-2005, 15:31
Maybe they got a lil :drunk: before putting those stickers on

RobDon
17-08-2005, 16:01
A squint sticker may not bother some, but it annoys the heck outta me, proves that Carbonio don't give a toss about their products, no pride.

It's their loss, once I whip the sticker off nobody at car shows will know it's their cover - too bad.

(if Carbonio want to send another sticker I'll gladly put it on ... straight!)

Scotty_b
17-08-2005, 23:06
How about an awsome one on there?

awesomeade
18-08-2005, 08:23
i'll sort another carbonio sticker for you Rob :)

AndyHazza
18-08-2005, 08:44
I understand it is a bit poo getting it with a cock eyed sticker, but i wouldnt go as far as to say that they dont take pride in their product rob. Have you had any problems with the fit or anything?

RobDon
18-08-2005, 20:54
Fitted the Carbonio cover today, went straight on, very nice fit. Looks a bit weird at first seeing stuff through the cover but the ventilation is really good - the coilpacks, DV hose and fuel rail all get good ventilation. I'm going to polish some of the metal underneath the cover and maybe even fit some lights for shows - KABLING!!!

http://www.20v-turbo.co.uk/images/mods4/cbon1.jpg

This 2nd image shows the quality finish on the clear coat - nice!

http://www.20v-turbo.co.uk/images/mods4/cbon2.jpg

I've ordered the Neuspeed oil cap cover from you guys today to finish the look.

Looking good rob. REally needs the front section under the Dipstick to be done in CF IMHO to make it look the mutz nuts

RobDon
19-08-2005, 08:32
Too expensive, might just get it done in gloss black.

Scotty_b
19-08-2005, 08:36
Black would be better but when have you ever scrimpt on style due to price mate! Your car wouldnt be (IMO) the best cupra around if you did!

awesomeade
19-08-2005, 08:59
we'll be offering a cover there too in CF soon, not made by carbonio though, i'm waiting for some to come in to see the quality, price is around £80+vat

RobDon
19-08-2005, 09:01
Aha, cool. I'll have one too then, truly complete the look! ;)

Can you get me a new Carbonio sticker for the cover then?

Scotty_b
19-08-2005, 09:02
Good on you Rob, new it wouldnt take much!

awesomeade
19-08-2005, 09:41
yes will send you a carbonio sticker when it arrives with my nextr carbonio order :)

RobDon
05-09-2005, 19:05
Found a lower CF cover on eBay, quality is not bad at all, £45, looks great next to the Carbonio cover.

http://www.20v-turbo.co.uk/images/mods4/cbon3.jpg

Can't fit it for pics just now as my car is at Star getting a Quaife diff and Sachs clutch fitted.
