Grille removal and other mods

I'm thinking of taking off the front grille on my ibiza 97, removing the center piece of the grille and putting a mesh behind it. Would like to re-badge it afterwards with the mesh on. Anyone done this?

I think I know how the grill comes off (3 screws at the top, the sides should snap off). Ideally i'd like to be able to put it back to standard, if I re-sell at some point.

Also, in removing the gear knob..I can unscrew it, but the gator is somehow attached to the gear knob. How do I remove it, put on a new one and attach the gator to it?

Lastly..do side repeaters from VW polos fit on to ibizas? they look the same...I heard these should just prize off with a flat screwdriver.

Never really modded before, so forgive the newbie questions! Any other suggestions on tarting up my ibiza would be appreciated :D

ive also got a 97 ibiza and the first thing i did was mesh the grill. to honest its a piece of piss. onece you have got it off (cant remember how but it sounded about right) their are some kind of plastic welds that connect the black grill part to the painted part. i just snapped these off with a stanley knife.(couldnt ne ased to keep the old bit) they then seperate and i cut my mesh to suit. i fixed it by putting in small screws and washers in to where the plastic welds where, you will see what i mean when u do it and it holds it perfect.

p.s the indicators are the same, to get them out pust the end of it towards the front of the car and pull it slightly and it will pop out.
