i have got an Alhanbra 1.9tdi S reg. i have acceleration probs for a while now . but i have found if a disconect the plug to the sensor on the air filter acceleration is improved a lot. what is the sensor for ?. will it do any harm if left disconected .if yes do i need to buy a new sensor and are they expensive???? . any help would be great as i dont have a clue about it.

Sounds like the MAF to me, about £80 to exchange it at your local stealer

Not a lot, the engine management ecu reverts to pre set parameters, you regain some of your performance but still run under power, I ran with it disconnected for two weeks before I had it replaced

thanks i now have a new Maf and what seems like a new car. performance is a lot better hard to belive that it would make such a difference thanks again :thumbup:
