www.upsolute.com (http://www.upsolute.com)

Upsolute produce chip remaps.....highly rated VAAG group tuners, and recognised as THE tuner for VAAG turbodiesels.

1.8 20V (non turbo) 125bhp/125lbs.ft = 138bhp/148lbs.ft

1.8T 20V 180hp/173lbs.ft = 212bhp/199lbs.ft

110TDI 110bhp/173lbs.ft = 143bhp/215lbs.ft

2.3 V5(10V) 150bhp = 162bhp

(can't see any figures for 2.0 Ibiza)

ALL upgrades cost $300 (approx £200 !!!), and all provide better fuel economy (when your clog is not on the carpet! http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif

Upgrades are also "invisible" to VAG diagnostic equipment......you may be able to see advantages in this? http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/rolleyes.gif

The downside?

They are based in Belgium and (currently) have no UK dealer (although this is apparently "in-progress").

You can send them your ECU......but most folks are nervous about this. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/rolleyes.gif (I have however spoken to folks who have done this - without incident)

Upsolute attended the last GTI International event in the UK, leaving behind many satisfied customers.

I've posted a query on their BBS asking if they plan to come back again ~ the "main man" is on holiday 'til 3rd Sept, but if there is enough interest then they may make a trip....

Please post on http://www.upsolute.com/cgi-bin/board/upsolute/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000399 if you are genuinely interested. We'll see how many folks we would need for this to become a reality when Alex returns from his holibags......

If anyone is a member of a UK Audi / VW BBS, would appreciate a post linking to this message (here) - if you could be so kind. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif

hmm 212 bhp for the 1.8 20v Turbo sounds very nice... Any ideas on what sort of performance increase this yields in 0-62 times and top speeds?

Stevo.

Website info for 20VT http://www.upsolute.com/database/sheets/446.html

Top speed 135mph std (I thought it was 142mph std) goes up to 147mph......

0-60 not quoted.....but....er...faster!

steady 56mph 47.9mpg increases to 50.4mpg
steady 75mph 36.7mpg increases to 37.7mpg
urban 28.5mpg increases to 29.1mpg

(note: these are my quick conversions from litres per 100km to mpg....but I think they are right!) http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/cool.gif

"1.8T 20V 180hp/173lbs.ft = 212bhp/199lbs.ft"

The Bhp figure is nice, but I would have expected a little more torque than that.

A std Audi S3 has almost 230lbs.ft!

My AmD chipped Ibiza peaks at 236lbs.ft!

Barring TDIs I don't think Upsolute offer "Maximum Gains", but on a "increase vs cost" basis they're unbeatable (IMHO).

I thought +32 bhp / +26 lbs.ft for the 20VT was quite nicely "balanced" for both mid and top range...just my opinion. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif

PS
Std S3 is 210bhp/199lbs.ft. Upsolute takes this to 238bhp and 265lbs.ft for £200.

edited to note that Upsolute DB shows increase in torque to 217lbs.ft / 220lbs.ft for Audi TT180 / A3 1.8T(Q) respectively.

The Leon page shows std torque as 210nm (155lbs.ft) which is obviously wrong - should be 235nm (173lbs.ft).
I reckon this 25nm error has been applied to both "before and after", which would give "after" torque of 295mn (217lbs.ft) as per the TT180.....
