nothing here pending.
Bill,
Will you be able to carry one off mapping like jabba or will it be more like revo software where its generic programs for certain set ups like stage two (high flow cat on std car). Will you be carring out talior requirements for individual cars and is it just IHI big turbo kits or will you be able to provide software for Garrett set ups?

Not just IHI, anything, which yes will include Garrett/other. The BT conversion I am prepared to start with for mechanical installs however I will start with IHI as this is what I am most familiar with. Mapping for one offs would be using Custom Code tuning tools available to me.
Code wise, with Custom Code tools and support at my disposal, there is a wide scope for bespoke tailored tuning as per Custom Code's offerings. If its tunable, its doable. :)
It is the Custom Code tuning tools at my disposal which made my decision to add them to Badger5's portfolio. I have wanted "tuning" ability and tools for a long time. Now I have them, and the scope for bespoke tuning packages is greatly widened.
:)

Steve
Yes I am still a REVO dealer. Different products, different customers, what is offered is choice on what you want and how you like your power served up, switched or not etc. Features and options and choice of power delivery is whats offered. They are different CC to REVO.
Custom Code have the tools which I can access for bespoke 'advanced' tuning, which is where I want to go, and what I have wanted from day 1.
I am fortunate to have very good working relations with Jabba, REVO, JBS, custom Code.. and all these companies have their place & strengths..
BT kits I am 100% behind Jabba on their methodology, hence IHI being my initial BT offering. I know it well, having run it and seen and experienced the good and the bad... We share information for the continued evolution of the products.
Mapping for other types can be catered for with the CC tools at my disposal. (eg Garrett, hybrid K0x etc)
Its a step up for what Badger5 can offer, and why Badger5 has partnered up with my local VAG specialist for mechanical installs, and CC for software tools and tuning.

LOL... cheeky monkey. :p
at least hardware is available now & installed kits can be undertaken shortly.
(prices I have to compile so people know whats on offer and options are made clear as to what power level to expect vs advised improvements, rods/pistons/valves for example)
off playing @ the 'Ring in a while so will check back here next week when I return.

Is your local VAG specialist the one who did the superchips on my Golf, the VW garage behind the BP station in Stonehouse??
If so they seemed good people when I used them, leant me a courtesey car etc and did what they said, when they said.

Sigificant difference is I KNOW the IHI kit ;)
The only difference is DP for 4WD and these are all made to order anyhow. turbo outlet is the same to which a DP would be built to.
Hi Bill,
Out of personal intrest, If you serial port program cars with Custom Code, can you still see the correction factors (ignition) etc over the same OBD2 interface whilst you are tuning?
Thanks

concurrently no. emulation req'd to map real time.
upload and log, run and log, adjust and upload kinda deal. same as revo tuning.
it would be great if it did tho.
is that kind of like sps3 tuning but a bit more? :)

a lot more than SPS3 m8... many tables to adjust within ecu after the code has been generated from a spec list. Its a software tool set for altering the ME7.
Should be fun. :)
cool, is it like lemmiwinks or more on top, as in just set +/- parameter changes or is it almost infinite adjusment ?
i dont know that much of how it works, so looking to understand it :)

no m8.. not lemmiwinks or custom_settings
its tables which reside in ecu which can be adjusted.. ie just what REVO/Jabba/APR do when they generate their performance codes.
An ECU software tool set of sorts.
deffo not just +/- across the range type adjustments, but specific load point adjustments and corresponding related tables.
Thats why its called Custom as you can customise it as much as you want (or not)
cheers bill, understand you now :)
Thanks for the reply Bill,
I though that this would be the case. I wondered if the programming software code had been wrote in such a way to allow you to set the values in the EEPROM of the ECU, then instantly switch to a VAG-COM type function.
I take it that the ME7 ECU doesn’t allow serial programming on the fly ? So you have to stop the car, re load a new value and try again ?
Thanks.

yea.. upload not on the fly.
emulator and physical desolder/socket fitting required for on the fly, like my ibiza has.
start stop, log and reflash when recoded tweeks. Longer to do but hey ho, it is what it is. At least its a tool I can actually have to play with. Been wanting this ability for a long time now.

At some point probably. Will use it as a test hack on a.n.other ecu which is std.

ant fr,i've heard of other cars dented there too
yeah they are doing the dent, but want the car for another week, plus to stop the CEL light on the cat which has ony been there since they fited the right cat, and also to rewire the boost guages that were wired up to the ignition and not to the headlight illumination ( the excuse thye said for this is that sometimes it is hard too see the boost guage so best ot have the light on all the time, yeah of course it is , especially in the sunshine, tits)
At every stage they are pissing things up, and i said to them the last ime thye had the car ( you can have it for 2 weeks to sort everything for good" what di they do, none of it.
My mates think its a standing joke, as AMD seem to be ripping th episs out of me, and i can't believe i have gone back so many times without smacking one of them yet. And now they want it for a week again.
Can i ask your opinion, do you think i would be right in demanding a courtesy car from them which i can keep until they have solved the problems. Seeing as they offered nothing by way of compensation for my time lost, plus the cost of my travel to them each time it goes wrong ( i live in kent they are in oxfordshire)
Bill whatever you do, do not go down the same service routes AMD have gone, they are simply quite shocking. PS sorry for moan on your thread, opionion appreciated as you are in the know though.

LOL like I would be as bad on service as that.... god forbid. I am a VAG enthusiast first, Badger5 company director & businessman 2nd.
You are not alone in being frustrated with that kind of service. Its unacceptable.
Its not for me to say what I think on a public forum, so I will say nothing and you can make your own mind up what that might infer. ;)
Of the companies I happily fwd custom to where I can't offer a solution, they are not one of them.
Not a lot of luv lost between myself and Scott.
They are not the company they once were where their good reputation was gained. Change of hands change of attitude.
Hope you get things sorted.
