View Full Version : Increase in size of Dyna twist
Bill, have been thinking about getting the larger Dyna twist for my Mk4 FR. Can't help but feel the one i have a little small compared to the ones fitted to the mk3 beezers. Hoping i can fit as an open system, or is there a large foam filter you do that would also fit. May be a large ramair one, may do the trick.

You have the regular Twister as thats all that suitably fits.. XL can fit (which is the Dynatwist one for Mk3 Cupra's) but is extremely tight in the available space.
RamAir are a complete waste of time and have been unavailable to buy since May, no matter how many times I try to get my stock order! Grrrr.
The XL Twister filter unit is available stand alone lists £141.99+vat
Both have the same 80mm ID intake pipe.
RamAir one is between Twister and XL in size and foam filter but not been available from them. :(
which do I have bill XL or XXL?

NO - This is'nt the Dynatwist kit just the filter housing bit. XL sized Twister.
no mounting bracket, no induction hose, no rubber coupling, no clips.
Dynatwists are the kits, Twisters are the filters & housings
and before you get all upset, retail on a Dynatwist kit is £171.99 PLUS VAT really. ;)
Bargain from me @ £170 inc vat
wanst gettin upset just planed to sell mine and i thought at first glance there had been a drop-not unlikely as its been a year since i bought mine. never had any problems with your prices mate thats why i keep coming to you

no worries.. just clarifying what the filter bit vs the full kit lists as.
Twisters are just filters, Dynatwists are the full kits.

dynatwist kits are not made for turbo cars xl only rated upto 200bhp and xxl only rated upto 300bhp i now run mine with no cover as i stupidly made this purchase of a xl dynatwist before looking into them.
bill????????????????????
and yet GREEN sell Dynatwists for turbo cars, in size XL - Go figure! ;)
Its a continuation of their contradictory information in their catalogues.. maybe did'nt translate too well from French to English or something.
The filter size itself is the same as they rate at over 400bhp, and have run on my own car for a number of years, not restricting its performance in the mid 300bhp levels...
So you can choose to believe a misprint or reality
:)
Look at BMC/RamAir etc type equivalent 1.8t kits and they also share the same 80mm intake pipe size as a Dynatwist. For sure removing the housing exposes a lot more surface area, hence airlfow, at the cost of also breathing in hot engine bay air.

bill i got told off before in this thread i no its a bit old sorry but perfect place an question to ask i used the search an this is the first that came up.
i got ibiza cupra xl dynatwist but was wondering if this would be the best to fit on a leon cupra r? or would an xxl be better as a remapped leon 270bhp would possibly need more than the ibiza required???
is there any difference in the size of filters for both cars?
bit off topic sory but do the injectors hold back the k04 on stage 2 remaps or is it just the turbo?

XXL wont fit.. unless you move the battery elsewhere.. its the size of a small dustbin. no problem on its power rating but its physically much bigger than the XL
XL works on std or mapped LCR's
Ibiza and LCR are different neck sizes on the filter but thats the only difference other than some different fittings for installation
injectors are ok on the LCR. they are not holding things up. turbo ability to flow air is beyond the 270 kind of levels.
