View Full Version : T2 adustable Actuator
I'm looking for an Actuator to be adjustable between 6-10psi and noticed that you sell an adustable Actuators.
After reading this;
http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0001&product=FMAC049
I was wondering if you could explain something, Is the Actuator adjustable by springs alone? as you sell different rated springs but can you fore instance set it to 7 psi accurately or is the spring loaded to just 5-10psi.
E.G.
If i bought this got my compressor (electrical compressor not turbo) and set it to 7psi could i adjust it so that it would it hold tight until 7psi or will it work some where in the region of 5-10psi.
Any news does any body know

Hi Addo
Thanks for your unusual enquiry, the most accurate way for you to limit your boost
using an electronic fan type system is to install a Forge single piston dump valve
in a boost line but do not connect any vac pipes.
This can be built to be blown open at a pre-set boost levels giving you controlled
maximum boost at low cost with no complicated actuator fitting.
lf required we could build/supply a re-circ type valve if you found the atmo to loud.
Thanks for getting back to me but i think we're not off the same hymm sheet at the moment. Basically i've recently been mapped and i have a 10psi t2 actuator on my gt28r/ibiza. I've been advised to run at lesser strength actuator e.g. 7 psi then mapp the n75 valve (boost solenoid) to vent boost off this valve so that the cars doesn't strive to hit 10psi all the time.
So if i bought your T2 adustable Actuator can i set it to 7psi, or is it just the springs you can change and ther for only gaurentee between 5-10psi.

You can specify the Forge actuator to be built using a 6 to 8 psi spring and when installing the actuator onto the car you would slightly pre-tension the spring by adjusting the turnbuckle. You would confirm you final setting using a mitivac pump/gauge before running the car.
This is the most accurate way of setting you minimum boost pressure.

Ah right it is what i want then.

you tried adjusting preloads on what you have Addo?

Well the penny flap is tight to the housing as it should be but i was after a smoother pick up altough its hardly uncomfortable as it is. i suppose thats part of the fun with big turbo set ups any way.
Is your actuator any bigger in any way as in my set up mm are at a premium ;) and do you have them instock?
