OOps sorry theres the wright up;) SEAT Salsa concept restyled
SEAT has given its awesome Salsa concept car a radical makeover for its first public appearance in Spain at the Madrid Motor Show from 24 May - 2 June. Here's your chance to carry on the good work...
Under the direction of Walter de’Silva, SEAT’s talented design team has given the highly acclaimed Salsa an even more dynamic sporty look and feel through the use of new colours, contemporary materials and unusual textures - but still retained the original multi-driving concept styling and functions.
The once silver Salsa is now a lustrous red - an effect created by applying seven layers of transparent red resin, giving an attractive depth to the colour. The exterior red is matched to the new interior colourways where red, black and aluminium now dominate.
The floor, door panels and backs of the front seats all have the same smooth, metal-effect washable covering. The door panels are engraved with Salsa graphics which also add to the modern interior atmosphere. The metallic theme continues with decorative matt aluminium elements on the dashboard and steering wheel, complementing the soft-feel grey and black dash and the new, velvety red instrument panel casing. The upper and lower glove compartments have a novel transparent effect created by securing black mesh over a translucent material. Continuing with the colour scheme, the Salsa’s seats are now upholstered in red and black fabric, and the whole look is finished with black pillars and headlining.
The Salsa’s new look doesn’t disguise the car’s original futuristic purpose. The Salsa spearheads a novel idea, the multi-driving concept (MDC). It has three different driving modes, Sport, Comfort or City, which can be selected depending on the driver and the driving conditions. Each mode gives a different driving position, transmission (Tiptronic or automatic), and provides the driver with different information and assistance through the instruments. The Salsa is, in effect, three vehicles in one.
The Salsa is equipped with a 2.8 litre V6 250 bhp engine, 5-speed Tiptronic gearbox and intelligent 4-traction. It has a top speed of 245 km/h (153 mph) and reaches
0-62 mph in 7.5 seconds.
NICE

Shame they don't apply this much effort to paintwork on the cars that they actually sell. ;)
Cheers

7.5 sec 0-62 2.8 v6 250 bhp tiptronic?? something terribly wrong with these figures!! Output like that should be scooby equaling ..almost fwd i suppose but bloomin 'ell tiptronic, that should cut off at least a sec of the 0-62 cause of time wasted on shifting. Fair enuff the in gear is probably very strong, but that means to 60 on a carriageway i could just about keep up with it!!! being 100 bhp approx down !!
