Ive a 95 M reg 1.4 Ibiza, for which i purchased a 97 spec rear bumper. The bumper fitted perfectly but it covers the tailpipe! The cut out for some reason is on the other side of the bumper! I want a smart exhaust preferably just the back box so can anyone reccomend one that will solve both problems??????

I`ve got a 95 spec GTi, and wasn`t aware that you could fit the later spec rear bumper.

Did it fit straight on with no probs and also could you let me know how much it cost you. Also, when you get your exhaust sorted, can you let me know how it went. Cheers, Matt.

Hi Mark. Ive fitted the 97 spec bumpers to the front and rear of the car. The front is fiddly but it does fit nicely, i cut the wings down and trimmed the odd bits down but its ok- sadly it misses all the mounts of the old front exept the two bolts behind the grill so you basically have to strap it to the body. As for the rear its dead simple just drill a few extra holes, it took me bout 15 mins and the only problem is the exhaust! The bumpers cost me £50 each but do look alot better! I have also resolved the mounting problem of the exhaust but cutting the mount in half and welding another section in. The exhaust now seems fine i just need a new back box!!!

Cheers Carl,

I`ll be looking into getting me some of those `97 spec bumpers. Thanks for the advice.
