My mate who's registered with the forum but never posts! - "Antman" texted me earlier to tell me he has ordered a new TFSI in black with all the toys. :D

Rain pack (inc autodimming mirror)
Spare wheel
Rear airbags
Xenon lights

Me well jealous. Going to make the wait for the Cupra even harder now

Seriously considering trading in now for a TDI Sport. By the time the Cupra is launched, mine will have done over 40k miles and petrol will cost £1.50/L and half the LCR owners in the country will be knocking down the dealers' doors to trade-in.

On the other hand, if I change it now I'll still want a Cupra when it launches.

Help.

I had a look around and a sit inside the TDI sport today, was very impressed. From the inside it feels like a sports coupe due to the high window lines, the room in the back is far better than the current model, but boot space seems smaller... I was imressed with the TDI-sport's level of trim too, very tempted seeing I'm changing my car next April.... Sales rep told me the FR is due next June and Cupra early 2007....

I wonder if the Leon Sport TFSI re-maps to the same level of the MK5 Golf Gti, or does it have a smaller blower? 185bhp - 260bhp is a huge step.... :D

I have spoken to someone who thinks it will be possible with a couple of hardware changes as well as a remap. I can't divulge who or say any more.... - but it should be quite possible.

Gary, that sounds like good stuff to me - I'm hoping the FR will be available by next April..... Cupra would be better, but I'm not going to hold my breath! Plus if it's going to have the VAG V6 lump (which has been mentioned on here previously) I wouldn't bother either, less tunable and more thirsty.... Scott, can you mention the hardware changes required for the TFSI? If not do you reckon its an expensive hardware change?

Here's hoping, but how long was the Leon out before the LCR appeared - or the MkIV Golf before the R32 was launched?

Like Seal, Eternal, Bill Withers and 911 said, Don't Make Me Wait. :(

Sorry Rob - I honestly don't know. Being kept close to someone's chest. I'm sure all will be revealed at some point.

To be honest not sure how anyone will know for sure until they see what the configuration of the engine really is, as far as I am aware the 185bhp TFSI is unique to SEAT. No other VAG car runs the engine at this power level.

And until someone has access to one, they can't say if its a mechanical adjustment, or simply running software to lessen its power.

actually i didnt go for the cd changer or the parking sensors. but i have the auto pack.

got a test drive at Emmer Green yesterday on the FSI (were they supposed to do this? - at least it made syphon green with envy) then ordered the car immediately after.

they priced me up on 16,495 but said they will return the difference when the price is officially released.

fell asleep with the brochure next to me...

Well I went out for an afternoon drive in the Liz today, went for some lunch at a nice restaurant and then decided to top it off with a visit to Droitwich SEAT to have a peek around a Leon. They have a few TDi's there, a black one, a dark blue one and a silver one, but only one available for test driving and it was fully booked. The guy there said that they will have a 185bhp TFSI in for demonstrating soon and I left him my details to call me when it was in. I made it plain though that I'd only be interested in the Cupra model and that he shouldn't get his hopes up on me buying anything any sooner...;)

I sat in the one in the showroom and was surprised at how apprently plain the centre console is, plain, but not dull - it's just very flat and vertical. Due to the slope of the roof it also feels quite flat and I'm not convinced that visibility is necessarily that great, but I'll have to drive one to find that out.

Brought some brochures home to peruse anyway.

Have they got hardware changes in their MkV Golf GTi demo car then, assumed it was software only?

Talking of hardware, when can we expect to see hardware upgrades to the FMIC in yours???

I am already receiving orders for the New Seat Leon 2.0 TFSI Sport and most want to order the extra toys so keep ordering them we love it!!

The whispers that there will be an FR model in Jan 06 refers to the Altea.
No one that i have spoken too is telling me that an FR/Cupra will be available so soon into the new year.

Don't feel that the 2.0 TFSI will be second best to these cars.
The car is already more powerful than the existing FR, has a higher specification and retails for £15995 Bargain if you can get one.

Anyone want to buy one? just email me at peter.owens@snowsgroup.co.uk
