Will the Forge FMDV006 Dump valve fit on a Ibiza fr PD130? This is a cheaper alternative if it will fit to getting a tdi spercific one which would cost twice the price.
If anyone could get back to me with some feedback it would be much appreciated.
Cheers spaniel. :)

thats not a dump valve mate thats a noise machine. has absolutely no resemblance to how they work properly on a petrol car where they belong.

ditto my latest post above, searchy searchy how a diesel turbo engine actually works, wheres the throttle?
Save ur money spaniel ! how about some tints or a carcept spoiler???
That was a joke by the way

Tints will come and so will a spoiler but not the same as yours. Im not a sheep and you know what they'll say at work,'' thats the same as martins'' :blahblah: .
So just wait it'll get done eventually. [B)]

So was that a yes or a no? it says on the forge website '' fits all turbo applications''. I don't want it for the noise, just to help the engine work better when the big power comes and to help it breath better.
thats a big fat hairy NO.no need.

Heh, look who's talking! Nice Sig by the way Bunnin! Good idea that!
And dump valves make no difference to a diesel other than sound.... I assumed that what u wanted, when I posted up about the Derv version!

Like i said before bunnin. :birdy:

So you will see no performance gain from a Dump Valve for a diesel! So if u dont want it for sound, then aint much point in getting one!
Hope this helps, and answer your original question.
ditto my latest post above, searchy searchy how a diesel turbo engine actually works, wheres the throttle?
You said dumpvalves dont fit on tdi's period.
But as to my last post the Derv Doctor does a dumpvalve for a diesel, its not just a speaker that makes that noise mate.
Only trying to help the guy on finding a dumpvalve for a diesel period.
Yes they do one, however it is pointless.

and its not a bona fide "Dump Valve"
if you want better mpg have a diesel
if you want plenty of revs to play with and rather have the performance and noise get a petrol turbo.
im NOT slagging one or the other, but if its a case of fitting something that naturally doesnt belong to the engine.... if this is the new trend i think ill go out and buy a smoke machine and dry ice, mix in a little coal dust, strap it onto the exhaust and ill have a tdi lookalike.

hey dont diesel turbos run off the pressure? so a dump valve for a turbo looses u power as it RELEASES the pressure? or am i just brain dead? hopefully not? lol
cordobabrendy
18-09-2005, 00:44
for a petrol engine it lets of the pressure the turbo is still trying to supply when the throttle is closed and there is no way to the chambers it gets vented out, diesels dont have this throttle/butterfly so trying to fit a dumpvalve is really like putting cosworth stickers/bumpers and exhaust on a 1.0 fiesta, false advertising and gives others a giggle at your expense when they realise.harsh but true.
glad to see you signed up rich! :D

hiya m8 lol glad to see u agree the guy who installed my ice told me about the diesel dump valves he also said they loose around 30% of the turbo's power or somethink like that, how did ya notice it was me then brendy?

You petrol turbo boys are in denial!!!! :p
There is no performance gain from a derv dump valve-FACT. but it doesnt loose 30% of its power!! There is no effect!!
How much of a gain do you see on a VAG petrol turbo with a DV 007p fitted? Minimal!!
A car computer, bigger/better ICE, larger/different wheels, changing standard bumpers to cupra bumpers.....all these do nothing for performance but they receive much less criticism.
Each to their own!! The fella asked if there is such a thing as a derv dump valve-he didnt ask for "its useless" "pointless" or to be laughed at!!

oi teacher boy, where where you today?
petrol cars are petrol cars, diesel cars are diesel cars, why blur the two?
was a good turn out at kirkistown and a few offs, noteably a white bmw m5 (possibly a wannabe though)

cordobabrendy - I do see your point, as I have always gone with the "If it doesnt do anything" or "if it isnt a" then dont do it!
But guess its personally taste. I wont get a dump valve for my DERV soot maker :D Due to the fact it doesnt nothing or than sound....
Each to there own, and u have to admit... ur first post was basically I shut down! :p
and all ur cupra tdi owners... FR's are performance'E aswell!! ner ner!

cupra diesels are good in their own way, different animals to the petrol versions, you still dont seem to realise that a "dumpvalve" in the traditional sense of the word will not physically go onto anywhere on the diesel engine, whereas a noise utensil will.
enough about that anyway, its your car.
